There is a sad story here, but we hope it will have a happy ending.
Next door, we have some very nice neighbors, but they are not particularly fond of cats.
There are very few cats that roam freely in our neighborhood because we are near two busy roads, and also have a field that once was home to a coyote. They mowed the field, and we haven't see him around lately, so he might have moved on.
Better get your coffee, this may take a few minutes...:)
Anyway, someone's cat...nobody is claiming her...got into their attic and had kittens. We think five or six of them, and they are probably about six weeks old now. The family heard noises, and thought it was rats. Thank goodness they did not put out poison!
Mom and dad did not know anything about this until the man told mom, yesterday, that he had trapped the momma cat, and two of her kittens, and taken them to a car wash a mile away, and put them out! Mom almost freaked when she heard this. She called daddy, and they raced up there, but no cats were found. A little later, back at home, they heard a cat crying and calling to her kittens. The mom-cat was on the neighbor's roof. She had come back, searching for her remaining babies. Mom about cried. They went next door, and asked if daddy could search the attic for the babies. He crawled around and around, but only found one kitten. It hissed and spit, but he handed it to mom, and told her to do an "Ellie Mae" on it. This is a private joke between them. Ellie Mae was the girl on the old TV series "The Beverly Hillbillies", who always was surrounded by her wild "critters". Mom always has a calming effect on stressed animals, and this little one calmed right down and snuggled against her. We think it is a girl, but are not certain. It is a little brown tabby.
Daddy called the shelter they volunteer with, and they said their quarantine area was full, but there would be a spot on Friday, for this little one. So Tiny Tabby will stay here for a few days. We wish it would be forever, but we cannot take in another, right now.
The mother cat has disappeared, and we hope she has those other two babies with her.
The weather is cool, but not cold, and today it is cloudy, but not raining.
We wish everyone would realize how special each animal life is, and they are not disposable items to be thrown out, like trash.
My family will be purring for the mom and missing babies, and for our little TT border to get a loving home.
Love & Purrs,
>^,,^< Zack & family

Sending purrs for Mama and her babies and big hisses to your neighbor!
it breaks our hearts to know there are such cruel ignorant selfish humans out there..Our road is a dumping grounds for dogs and cats. Our shelter is a kill them as soon as you get them one and run by idiots so we do not call them. We try to find homes for the animals but no one wants strays it seems!
I wish your family the best Zack.
Purrs and love
Many purrs and prayers for mommy and the babies! Some people are just too sick for words! Many snarls, hisses and growls to "the man"...he is heartless! Purrs and prayers for "TT" finding a nice home!

Now your mom will now officially be "Ellie Mae" to us. We loved her on that TV show and she was beautiful and had the sweetest heart (sounds like your mom!) hugs Anna
Thank God for wunnerful folks like you & yur husband!
Poor Mama cat iz missing her furrbabies & I hope she'll find the other two babies too. See, how lovin & smart they are.
So many heartless people on our planet. It's really very disturbing to see & hear. The simple truth is, they don't have God in their heart & their life, so sad to say!
Yes, we can express our hurt & angers & say stuff like why doesn't someone drop him off on the side of a very long road to nowhere. Well, one day he will have to answer to God, God help him if he even knows how!
In the meantime for those of us, we continue to do what we are here for.
We wuvs you Zack & families.
Lubbs & gentle huggs,
Kally Kat & Momkatt Liz ♥♥
My furmily still has CC, the cat mommy trapped that was in a ceiling of a business for about a week....seems the employees knew he was up there and no one really did anything. They didn't put out food much less try to catch/trap him. Luckily he came down at nite and was drinking from a toilet. Also luckily the toilet wasn't full of chemicals.
Anyway, he's a beautiful cat who wants to be loved yet is still quite traumatized. It's obvious by the way he ducks that someone has punched him in the head and he's terrified of loud/male voices.
He plays happily with the rest of the catfurmily and has settled in. Good because mom feels he couldn't be adopted out and doesn't trust anyone else with him.
Oh and our Christopher was originally dumped blind in front of a business next to a busy road....I tell ya Zack, sometimes it makes this ol Angel hisssing mad!!!!
I'm purrrin for mom and babies...
Oh my cat is that a cute kitty or what? How could anyone just dump babies in the winter or anytime for that matter? Blatant disreguard for animal life, particulatly helpless babies,is often a sign of a sick individual.
Hugs to your family and much luck to the little one.
Zeeke and the crew
TT is so adorable. I'm sure the others are just as cute! I'm purring for their safety and meowmy's praying, too. That poor Momma Cat. She must be half out of her mind with worry! I just don't understand how people can be so cruel.
Your pawrents are meowvelous! Big hisses to your neighbor! Purring the mommy cat and kittens are safe.
hugs and purrrs you have wonderful pawrents...unfortunately the world is full of very cruel and ignorant twofers....but there are also many wonderpur twofers who care with all their heart...
Oh what a beautiful little baby! And what a horrible horrible story! How could that mean man do that???? This has made my mommy's eyes leak. Poor mommy cat and the other babies. :~(
That baby is just precious and I do not understand why people hold kitty life so cheaply. It breaks my Mommy's heart which is why she has 18 of us and cares for a feral colony. God bless your Mom & Dad for their kind hearts.
How wonderful of you to do all you could for the momma and her babies. And what a beautiful little kitten!!
A car wash?????????????? What's wrong with this person????????? I'm stressed out thinking of those poor kitties....I will do my best to guide them to safety if I can......
OK! First of all, our secretary is officially fired!
I don't know how we missed all this.
OMG! She is an absolute doll!!
Is it too late to have Santa drop off her at my house?
