Arrival Story:
On September 1st, our dear baby, Shady, passed away. About a month and a half later, my husband and I decided that it was time to see about getting adopted by another cat. The apartment was just so large and empty without the little patter of kitty feet... We went to the Oregon Humane Society, and after meeting a few babies that just didn't quite click with us, she was brought out to meet us. Since she was so sweet, and immediately crawled into my husband's lap, we knew that we'd been adopted.

Bio:
Jazzy was a stray kitty, whose previous parents had abandoned her in a local neighborhood. One neighbor took pity on her and fed her while trying to find a home for Jazzy, but eventually had to take her to the Oregon Humane Society. Luckily for Jazzy, though she had a small abscess on her hind leg and a cold, she tested negative for Feline Leukemia and Feline HIV, and responded well to medications, making her readily adoptable. When we met her, she was just the sweetest baby, though kind of shy at first. She snuggled up immediately to my thigh, then crawled into Fred's lap. As we were expecting a baby in 4 months, we clapped loud to see how she would react to noise. While she skittered under the bench, she was still very friendly, and came right out again and loved on us. She let me scrub on her belly and immediately went to purring. She is listed as a tortoiseshell here, but only because there's no listing for her actual coloring... She's what the OHS calls a "Torbi" - a tortoiseshelled tabby. It's a coloring that I've honestly never seen before, but quite apt in description and very pretty. She has some tabby markings on her face, but the rest of her is various torti colors. **UPDATE** We had to give Jazzy back to the Humane Society after a month of attempting to gently bring her into our family. She was very territorial and refused to deal with anyone once she was home, unless it was me. When she began to attack our baby daughter, I knew that it was not a good fit.
