Yuck, Now My Feet are Wet!

I forgot to tell all of you that last week Mom took me out for my first trot through the snow. I don't really know what to think of it, honestly. I discovered that this cold stuff is edible! However, it sadly doesn't taste like anything. Mom took me out in my harness on the balcony, we didn't stay out too long though.

It's snowed again since my first experience and I love to sit on the back of the living room chair, put my feet up on the security bar on the sliding door, and just watch it fall. Right now our Christmas lights look pretty reflecting off the snow, but it's almost all melted and gone now. Boy there sure was a bunch of it until today!

Hope all my other kitty friends are having fun turning into snow bunnies!

Snow? What's that?

All this week it's been warm, warm, warm. In the seventies in Missouri in November. Mom says this is strange. I don't know any better, and after the last few days, today was a complete shock for me. I woke up this morning and looked out the window and saw all theses little white flakes floating down from the sky. And it's cold. Not just cold, but COLD!!! The roof of the entry hall next to our balcony is white, too! What's going on here?

I snuggled up on the couch with mom, but she's very busy and can't sit with me long because she's cleaning the house from top to bottom. Apparently, we're having visitors tonight. Mom's cousin, Courtney, and her husband are going to spend the night tonight after Mom and dad pick them up for the airport. Everyone is all excited for something called Thanksgiving, and I keep hearing talk of turkey and sweets. Yum!! I hope I get some!!

Well, Mom turned on the fireplace just for me, so I think I'll go stretch out in front of it and take a cat nap. Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!

Presents, presents, presents!!

Is it Christmas already?? I thought mom said presents weren't till next month. Last night mom and dad went out for a while and when they came back mom told me that got me presents. I'd been hearing her talk about something called a harness for a couple of weeks, but I didn't know what it was. But when they got home she said she got a harness for me. It's a really pretty color, it's pink with a silver glittery stripe, but I'm not sure if I like it yet. She keeps putting it on me and trying to get me to walk around the house in it. It's kind of uncomfortable, but I think I'm getting used to it. They also got me a costume for Chrismas (I look like an elf!) and a little pink and white t-shirt, but I think it's for a dog! Even so, I have to admit, I look pretty fab in it.

Today after mom came home from her job interview she had another present for me! She got me a name tag!! It's really cool! It's purple and it has my name and our phone number on it! She also bought me a pink leash, but I really don't like it. But mom says the harness and leash are the only way that I can go outside, so I think I'll have to get used to it. I think I like the outdoors... I'm not really sure though, I've never been there before. What is it? I hope it's not too far away, 'cause I don't like car rides!!!

What's That Tree Doing in the Living Room????

Okay, so mom and dad went grocery shopping today, and after they'd gotten back and put everything away, they did the STRANGEST thing I've ever seen. They went out in the storage area on the deck and brought in all these boxes, and out of this one box they pulled out a TREE... but it was in all these little broken down pieces! Then they started putting it together... in the LIVING ROOM!?! Then they put all these little twinkly lights on it and all theses pretty glass ornaments that look like they would have been more fun to chase than hang on the tree.

At first I was a little confused. I thought maybe they had brought the tree home for me, so I tried to sharpen my claws on it. I got in trouble, and dad sprayed me with the water bottle, so I didn't try that anymore. The twinkle tree looks nice and all, but I still have no idea what it's all about. My people seem excited about it, so I guess that's all that matters.

Mom said something about presents after they put the tree up... so, I guess that's a good sign.

2nd Day at My New Home

So, I've finally settled into my new digs. I've decided that it's fun to run really really fast through the hallway from the bathroom around the couch and into the living room. I still really like to nap under the living room chair. My new favorite hiding place is behind the fireplace screen where I can smell the candles on it (they smell like cinnamon toast! yum!!) I also like to get into the bottom shelf of the entertainment center and sit by the stereo and watch my humans.

They decided to let me have the run of the house today when they were gone. I was a good girl and didn't make any messes. I've also decided to start talking to my humans. They seem to like it...

First Night in my New Place

We just adopted Daisy last night. She's doing well, still adjusting to everything. We're opening up the doors in the apartment one at a time, so Daisy isn't to stressed about seeing a bunch of new rooms at once. We had her sleep in the bathroom last night with the door closed. After she's better adjusted to her new surroundings we're planning on letting her sleep with us, or wherever she wants. She really likes her kitty bed. We've had it for a while, just didn't have a cat to sleep in it. Everytime I looked in at her last night, she was sleeping in it.

She's very, very shy. I'm hoping with time that will get better. If left to her own devices, she hids under the living room chair and we have to coax her out. She loves to sit on laps and be pet. Right now she's napping fitfully beside me on the couch. She's really calmed down this morning, which is a good sign.
