Thanks to friends for all of those beautiful balloons!
Yesterday Mom took us for a walk in the stroller, but partway around the block, two large Labrador Retrievers--one yellow one chocolate--came barreling down the street headed straight for us! We were scared (though Mom said we were very brave afterwards) but because she knew we were safe and sound inside the stroller she just laughed at all the doggie enthusiasm. We were hissing and spitting inside the stroller, and the neighbor had ran after the dogs and was very apologetic. He said "Thank goodness you're a dog lover!" Et tu, Mom, a dog lover?! Mom explained later that her niece has a service dog she loves very much, but it was still a bit of a shock. Still she was happily chatting back and forth with the neighbors about how their dogs were just big puppies, and seemed to think nothing of it. But boy we were glad to get back to the house! We leaped out of the stroller first thing. Mom's just hoping we're willing to go back out walking in the stroller again, 'cause she really enjoys going on walks with us. We'll see--she's promised it's unlikely to happen again--but when Mom took me out to the car that night, I was nervous enough that I decided that maybe having the car door closed was a good thing. Mom agreed, as it's getting quite cold at night anyway.
