Now that the fleas are gone, I get to read it and share it with my friends with love and purrs...
In the words of Anatole France “Until one has loved an animal, a part of one's soul remains unawakened.” In the words of Mahatma Gandhi “The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated.”
I believe in these words. It is also said that time heals all wounds. Some wounds will just take a long time to eventually heal, if at all, in my humble opinion.
Today (April 27, 2014) marks the 1 year anniversary of Poo’s untreatable cancer diagnosis. I wish that time could have helped heal the wounds; I suppose it’s helped a tiny bit, but it cannot when it comes down to it being your most special little buddy, who had his life taken by an unfair disease at a young age.
My tribute here is in memory of my Beautiful Brave Boy today, who fought cancer so bravely for 3-1/2 months. He and his best cousin Sugar Bear went in for surgeries on the same day; April 25, 2013. Sugar for her lumpectomy and Poo for a routine dental. Thank God Sugar Bear has beat her mammary cancer and continues to be in remission, to fight and thrive thanks to the love of her Mama J. As a result of the mass found in his throat, Poo’s dental was cancelled, and thus ensued our bittersweet journey.
Poo fought together with us, hand in paw and paw in hand, until he looked at me and told me with his eyes, I can’t fight any longer. We granted him his wish on August 11, 2013.
There is magic in beliEVEing. The lovely orchid that Jo Ann and Peggy sent to us in Poo’s memory is ready to bloom again. AND... the bird of paradise that bloomed once last year in my memory, now has two huge buds reaching for the sky, ready to burst in bloom. (this is me and my SoulKitty Aggie, doing dual work together) :) Thank you, my friends who I have never met, I do beliEVE, I believe in the wonder of angels and that Poo’s spirit stays near and close.
To Poo. I love you always and always more.
I echo Maria in saying that people who love animals are the sweetest, kindest people I know. My prayers go out to all who are fighting this disease, human, feline, canine, all. Little Molly included. It seems that cancer is running rampant and out of control among our friends. Bless you all in your individual journeys.
