Arrival Story: Back in the day, my college boyfriend and I adopted two twin tabbies, Oingo and Boingo. (Sadly, Oingo was hit by a car when he was one year old.)
Bio: Boingo has been my best friend for 20 YEARS! He must have had way more than 9 lives, as I have "lost" him on many an occasion. I was going to college in Santa Barbara when I adopted him, and he and I drove back and forth to the Bay Area in my VW bug for holidays and summer break. He would sit on my shoulder. On one occasion, he escaped from my car as I was getting gas in a town by the name of King City, which is in the middle of nowhere. He just trotted away, just out of my reach, as I desperately tried to catch him in a field behind the gas station. Fortunately I caught him. WHEW! There was another occasion where, in going back and forth to school apartment housing, that he disappeared for 2 weeks. I was heartbroken. It turned out that he'd somehow found his way back to my apartment from the year before, which was at least a mile away. How did he do it??? We had such fun over the years - he and I even had matching sunglasses. We have been through thick and thin together, good situations, bad situations, the men in my life that came and went. He has a way of sitting up on his butt, like a person. He always did that! Many many years later I married a man from out of state, and Boingo, just shy of his 20th birthday, bravely made the 36 hour road trip with me from California to Minnesota, like a champ! He made it to his 20th year, and I knew he was declining, but I was in denial. I had been hand feeding him kitty arthritis pills for the last 6 years, every day. As he lost weight, I hand fed him. It finally got to the point to where I had to help him get to the Bridge. I have tears as I write this, but I am blessed to have had him for such a long and happy life. Boingo, you are so loved and so missed, but I know I will see you again soon.
My twin brother and I are going to be 29 tomorrow; MOL! Well... I DID live to be 20 years old, so I'm celebrating that plus 9 years as an Angel at the Beautiful Bridge! We're trying to CATch up with our sisfur, Perky, who recently turned 41! MeWOW what an old timer she is! Come join us in celebration!
Oingo & Boingo, Tiger Twins united in Heaven
My goodest friend ALBERT shared this lovely poem with me, and I loved it so much that I had to put it in my diary. Thank you for sharing, ALBERT!
To have loved and then said farewell is better than to have never loved at all.
For all of the times that you stooped and touched my head, fed me my favorite treat and returned the love that I so unconditionally gave to you. For the care that you gave to me so unselfishly. For all of these things I am grateful and thankful. I ask that you grieve not for the loss but rejoice in the fact that we lived, loved and touched each other's lives.
My life was fuller because you were there, not as owner, but as my friend. Today, I am as I was in my youth. The grass is always green, butterflies flit among the flowers and the sun shines gently down upon all of God's creatures. I can run, jump and play and do all of the things that I did in my youth.
There is no sickness, no aching joints and no regrets and no aging. We await the arrival of our lifelong companions and know
that togetherness is forever. You live in our hearts as we do in yours. Companions such as you are very rare and unique. Don't hold the love that you have within yourself.
Give it to another like me and then I will live forever. For love never really dies, and you are loved and missed as surely as we are.
We angel kitties helped guide TOMMY home to the Bridge on 5/4/10, and his journey was a beautiful and peaceful one. TABBY and I have opened our home to him and we are all very excited to have him stay with us. Of course his stay with us will be temporary, as he will be marrying his beautiful fiancée, ZOEY soon, yet he is welcome to stay with us indefinitely! This is slated to be one of the most beautiful Earth and Angel kitty weddings ever. TOMMY and ZOEY’S very special day is scheduled for May 23, however we are all very flexible if his heartbroken mom is not up to participating in the wedding on that day. Take all of the time that you need; we are all here for you and will surround you with the love and support that you deserve.
I must say how excited TOMMY was to meet his Angel sisfur, and my beautiful wife, TABBY! My heart brims with pride as I watch the two siblings, reunited together forever, playing in the fragrant catnip fields under rainbow laden skies. TOMMY is loving all of the trees, Emery Cat toys and endless abundances of tuna, salmon, chicken and delectable goodies.
Tommy speaking: Dear mommy: I want you to know how happy and healthy I am now… I am strong and healthy, my orange coat is lustrous and soft and my eyes are bright! The Bridge is so beautiful and I am enjoying everything here. I am soaring through the heavens with Tabby and we both watch over you and sprinkle rainbow angel dust over you while you sleep, giving you happy dreams. We feel you in our hearts as you do us, knowing we are forever entwined. Until we meet again… I love you mommy ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
