Arrival Story: I was living in St. Kitts and arrived home from the gym early one morning after stopping at the bakery. I walked up the stairs and almost tripped on a young cat. He nudged my leg so I bent down to pet him and he then nudged my bag of bread. I took a piece out and gave it to him and he ate it! I walked to my door, unlocked it and he ran inside. I put him back out, I had never had a cat before and did not need a pet, and went to class. I came home for lunch and he was lounging in front of the door. I guess he decided for me that I needed him, he was right!
So, I looked out the window yesterday and saw mommy and daddy getting a ladder for the tree in front of the house. With interest, I watched this commotion, Mommy holding the ladder for daddy and daddy grumbling about how he couldn't reach the branch. Mommy screaming when a spider landed on her, how funny, I would have eaten it or played with it!
Anyway, after about 10 minutes I saw what they were doing....hanging a bird feeder for my entertainment! What joy! Already I get great joy from watching those birds when they come to hang out in the tree but now, to create a feast for them so they continually convene at my eye level, what joy!!!
So, yesterday, all day, I sat and waited, no birds. This morning I got up and waited again, no birds. All day today, no birds! What is going on?!!! I mean, there is good quality seed in there, it is high enough so ground predators don't get it, the window is closed so I don't scare them, the branch that it is on is far enough away from the house and they normally sit on those branches so what gives?
Maybe I will have to dress up in a big blue jay suit and call to them?
Oh well, maybe tomorrow they will get it! Until then I will sit and wait and watch the lizard instead!
Well, I am just getting up after Halloween nite. It was a bit adventurous. Mommy didn't want people ringing the bell all nite so she left candy out but some big kid came and stole it all while i was watching!!!! I alerted mommy and she ran outside and yelled at hima nd made him put it back. Honestly, why can't people be civil like cats?
The rest of the nite was ok but I still don't get why people like to do that. Put on costumes and walk around the neighborhood? That is too much trouble for me.
Ok, back to sleep now.
