indoors and outdoors Arrival Story: Sterling showed up on the doorstep of our home in Texas. At the time, we had two cats which were mostly my wife's cats. Sterling attached himself to me which prompted my wife to want to give him away to the neighbor. I resisted. She later admitted being glad I had insisted on keeping him. When we divorced seven years later, she took her two and I kept Sterling. He lived to be 15 and is buried in a small clearing on a ridge in North Carolina. Bio: Sterling was named after the only cat that played a prominent role in a John Wayne Movie, "True Grit." In the film, the cat lives with Marshal Rooster J. Cogburn in the back of Chin Lee's store. We've already had one triple digit day (June 5) and plenty of days in the upper 90s. After a couple of years with what I would call moderate heat, it looks like this year we are going to have a good old fashioned Texas summer. For the uninitiated, that means stinking hot! Staying in the 80s throughout the night. Don't walk on concrete in your bare feet. And through the roof electric bills. UGH!!
Well, we up and moved back to Texas just a few miles north of where I found you back in October 1987. Seems like so long ago and yet like yesterday when you showed up on the doorstep. I called you Junior for a short while until it was for sure we would keep you. Then settled on General Sterling Price as a name more befitting your character.
