Piper's log 2009

Poor Spike

I went over later in the evening with Sydney to see if the body of the hedgehog was Spike. I looked and smelled so much like Spike i was certain it was him. I cried out in pain, Sydney was so shocked it scared her for a moment. She touched my nose with hers, we walked back to the house. I couldn't control my emotions. I went to the back deck and wept. Dad came to get me and he knew something was wrong, he brought me inside and gave me food. But i just couldn't eat, i lost my best friend.

Phil's News

I was outside sunning my tummy and Phil and his family showed up. They told me the horrible news, across the road was a dead hedgehog, they couldn't be certain but they think it was spike. I was upset and started to head over there but the traffic was so heavy. I would have to wait until later when things slowed down. I felt a lump in my throat and the tears kept running down my furry cheek, what if that was my best friend laying there?

Spike's upset

Spike came around last night to half heartily apologize for ignoring me for the past few weeks. Then he went on to complain about dad and his flashy thing. I told him it's a camera and it takes a picture, well spike wasn't impressed he told me it scares him and his girlfriend who enjoyed the meal, was scared to death by the constant flashing. She told spike they should go slow because of the incident. I told spike that's the quirks of humans and you have to learn to live with it. He left in a bit of a huff and didn't even play tag.
