Arrival Story: Lucy was my special Valentine's gift in 2003 from my husband. He is quite neutral when it comes to cats (OK - he really dislikes cats), but he knew that I missed having a pet. I had been owned by a Turkish Angora during my 30's, and they are my favorite breed. We searched the internet for a nearby breeder, and lo and behold - a breeder was going to be showing cats in nearby Lakeland the day after Valentine's and had an amber eyed female kitty for sale. We drove to Lakeland and picked her up and she has been in charge ever since.

Bio: Bred and born at Alabama Cats cattery in Mobile, AL.

It's taken a long time for me to be able to write this........but Lucy crossed the Rainbow Bridge the morning after making her last diary entry. She awakened her Mom at about 2 AM, unable to move her hind legs. There is a long name for what had happened, but essentially she threw a blood clot. Her vet explained that there was a very slim chance.........and Mom did let him treat her for one day. When it became apparent that the treatment was not going to work, and when the xrays showed heart/lung problems beyond the paralysis.........Mom made the decision to help her little girl cross the Rainbow Bridge. She will live in my heart forever.........

Life just whizzes by so fast. I mean't to keep my diary updated, but things have been so topsy turvey here.
Mom and I are single gals! Jim had to tomcat around and Mom put him out of the house. I like it much better now - he was mean to me. People who don't like cats just aren't right.
I have my very own room and bathroom. I have pretty pink bed that announces that I'm 'spoiled' - whatever that is. But I still like to sleep with my Mom the best.
We've redecorated the apartment! It's been fun! So much to see and sniff.
We took a trip to Mississippi! I rode in the car and was a good kitty (of course)
My paws are tired.

Some strange stuff has been going on..........first thing I knew, my Mom had me in my cat carrier (I thought we were going to the VET) and in the car. We drove for a little while, then Mom toted me upstairs and turned me loose in this big empty funny smelling place. She told me that it was my new home. It is much bigger than the old place, but none of my stuff was there. Mom said that all of my stuff would get moved.....Mom and Jim have been driving back and forth between the old place and the new place since the fifteenth.......most all the stuff from the old house is here now. I have my cat combo in front of a big window - I get to watch people come and go.
It still smells funny here, but I am getting used to it.
Moving is a lot of work. Mom is also using a LOT of four letter words.
