NUTRO Pet Food is still a concern. Many of the products have best used by dates well into next year. Cat and Dog products involved. Please check recall lists. See previous diary entries for why. (Recall earlier this year was due to extremely high levels of zinc in the food). Nutro has/had signs up in some stores saying their food is safe for cats and dogs. Hmmm, if it was safe would there be the need for a sign????

Leave A Comment | 7 people already have I only wished people cared enough about pet food as much as they did their own foods and made sure our foods were better monitored..A cat or dog dies from food poisoning, and oh how sad..a person or two dies from food poisonings and the news is on it ASAP!

Chef Rooster Yes, it IS a concern! I DIED from eating Nutro, and they are STILL having problems! Please have your mommy and daddy choose a better food for you!

Tabby We will always avoid Nutro. It's our personal opinon that they won't change.
It's really sad to see Nutro bearing truth to our opinion. We won't ever eat Nutro or Diamond or Walmart store brand for sure.
And we've gotten 2 bags from Felidae that we've refused to eat. Now if one cat refuses, it's not that bad, but when you open a new bag and ALL the cats won't touch it, it's the food! So we've taken them off our list as well. too much zinc is bad for cats indeed.
We are on blue buffalo evolutionary diet. You know anything about it? There are few good choices out there. Mommy tries to check them carefully, but many companies are such liars.
We were hoping all the pet food companies involved in the melamine mass poisoning would be sued out of existence, or failing that, that no one would buy from them anymore and they would go out of business. Are people stupid? Why do they keep buying it? These creeps just passed the responsibility and fought having to change their ways, kitties are no safer. Mommy looks forward to raising our food for us. Maybe she can sell quality meats to other kitty owners to so they can control what goes into their cat's bowls. Thank you Hazel Lucy for always keeping us up to date on the food recalls.
I agree with all of you people should be as concerned about what they feed their pets as they are about what they eat....Mom has always fed us good healthy food- Wellness & sometines Tikii. sometimes she makes our doggies their food in the c rock pot.....
Mommy likes to keep up with the food recall because she is a pet sitter and she lets her clients know they always thank her....she had a clients doggies die from the food recall...so Mom is staying on top of it all the time.... We are so glad that you post these things. Mom just got some coupons in the mail from Petco for Nutro and after reading all your posts about this food, the coupons are going straight in the trash!
