Arrival Story:
Her previous owners didn't fix her & when she came up preggies they dropped her expectant self off at the Berkeley Eastbay Animal Shelter. Several months later, after her kittens had been weened off her, she was able to be adopted out. Her current family (that's us!) was looking for a big sister/mommy influence for the little feral kitten we had adopted a couple months prior and thought Kiki would be perfect.. She was played with in the stinky playroom (where all the other cats go to play with potential family) and just before she was given up on as not suitable, and we were considering looking at another cat, she jumped into her new daddy's lap and convinced us not to try any other cat but her! She's very much loved and cared for. While we're sorry whoever was so cruel as to not neuter her, but to give her up to the shelter.. it was definitely a benefit to Kiki's family and to her little brother Alexander. We can't imagine our life without her! =)

Bio:
Our friends think she might be part Siamese. She is VERY chatty so it's quite possible.. =) Kiki is a pretty mellow cat who has had a hard time learning to trust. She & her mommy are getting to know each other better day by day.. and just the other day she actually jumped up on her mommy's lap for a couple seconds! At this rate, it'll be a couple years til she's comfortable enough to sit down. Until then she'll just snuggle up and make biscuits on the couch while her mommy and daddy scratch her behind the ears. =)
