Chime is my sister's kitten. We went to the pound one day, because we felt that Onyx needed a little sibling. He had recently lost a younger brother who he had been like a father to, and we thought he needed someone to fill the hole. We found Chime, who was 6 months old at the time. She had been locked in an apartment without food or water, and horribly mis-treated by her previous owners. She was extremely vocal, meowing almost non-stop for the entire car ride home, and she still isn't afraid to moan at doors until someone opens them for her. The end of her tail is crooked, we assume from her previous owners slamming it in a door, and when we first got her she was so self-conscious about it that she would lick it non-stop, even though I think it's one of the cutest things about her, and nowadays she doesn't mind it as much.
