Guess what everybody?! Yup, I finally got adopted. The volunteers at the adoption center were all really excited (but not as excited as me - of course I tried real hard no to look TOO excited, not my style). My new dad was home on leave - he's in the Army and had to go back to Iraq :( My new mom really wanted another cat (I've got a buddy! And two dogs -*growl*). My new dad had told my new mom that they could adopt another cat when he came home on leave - and so they did.
They have a little girl too. That's okay though 'cause I dig kids - as long as they respect my cat sensibilities.
My mom stopped by the adoption center about a week ago and saw the volunteer coordinator there so she went in and told her that everything was going well and I'd made myself right at home - like I was gonna do anything else! I know that even though the volunteers are happy I finally found a good home, they kind of miss me. I miss them too, but I LOVE my new family.
Yeah for me!

...Susie-Q that is! Even though I love all the volunteers at the adoption center, I'm REALLY getting tired of this place. I've got the biggest cage and I get lots of treats and plenty of attention from the volunteers, but I so want a real home. I'm really nice, at least "I" think I am. I grumble a little when I'm picked up, but that's just because I'd rather get some exercise and check things out when I get a chance to get out of my cage sweet cage. I'm a big girl -I weigh about 10 lbs - not fat mind you, just long and tall - like a model :)
I like drinking out of a running water faucet (as you can see from my pics), and I get along pretty good with the other cats. There are a couple of pip squeaks who come along every now and then and wanna rumble, but I'm pretty patient with the furballs - to a point. Dogs, on the other hand, I'm not so sure about. I know I'd probably get used to the idea but people seem to get a little put off when they see me arch my back and fluff my fur when a dog is brought to the window. Well jeez Louise, it's not like we're here for their entertainment ya know!
So, I heard our volunteer coordinator say I'd been at the adoption center since May 23rd of this year! Jeez, has it been that long? No wonder I get a little grumpy. Wouldn't you if you'd had to live in a cage for six months? I'm not complaining mind you, and I'm staying optimistic. I know it's just a matter of time. Our volunteer coordinator has been thinking about moving me to another store, thinking that might bring me new visitors, but she really wants to see me get adopted so she knows who's family I become a part of. Only trouble is, she's just a volunteer and either the rescue or the store adoption center might decide to move me and they trump our volunteer coordinator. Sigh...
Well, that's it for now. Hopefully I'll get some good news soon.
Hugs & Kisses,
Susie-Q
