He's an excellent judge of character. IE he's hated (and hid from) any bad suitors that have come to call.
I had gone to the pet store with an old boyfriend to pick up food for our iguana (RIP), Elliott. Our kitty, Jetta, had been stolen about a week before and I was still mourning her disappearance. The boyfriend wandered into the area of the store where the cats were and held him up towards me with the "can we keep him, huh huh?" look on his face. I fell in love instantly, so we took him home and the rest is history. (That boyfriend is history too!)
Vincent is from San Diego, CA. His birthday is Cinco de Mayo, though the celebrations around our fair neighborhood usually scared him-too much noise! He really misses San Diego, so does his Mom. We had a nice place near the ocean and at that time, Vincent was an outdoor cat. He's had various trips to the vet, he once had to have his thumb amputated after he attempted to hang from a tree with it, OUCH! Most folks who know me assume that Vincent is named after one of the following: Vincent Price, Gene Vincent, Vincent-the short story by Tim Burton, Vincent Vega, Vince Vaughan and Vincent Van Gogh-those are all incorrect. He is named after the 1950 motorcycle, the Vincent Black Shadow. UPDATE: 4/25/05Vincent was recently diagnosed with feline diabetes. We're managing it, but it's tough. It's not curable, but thank goodness it's treatable!!
UPDATE: Bentley and I lost our sweet Vincent on October 16th, 2007. We miss him every single day. It's taken me almost a year to log into his Catster page because it was too painful. We are approaching the 1 year anniversary, but it seems like only yesterday.
