Pet-Peeves: Being held. He's a real love-bug but isn't wild about being held.

Favorite Nap Spot: The sofa.
Favorite Food: None. He isn't demanding.
Skills: He sings in the car. He shouts at me to come play with him upstairs.
Arrival Story: Junior was a stray in the summer of '05. Just a little guy, he wandered into the neighborhood where the neighbor feeds the strays. I was sitting on the front porch and he came up and started rubbing my legs. I fell madly in love and brought him inside. That was not quite that, because I was, for a couple of days, willing to find him a new home. But a friend came to visit and Junior was being adorable and my friend said, "He's a real character. I think you should keep him." OK!! (no fight there). I've said from the get-go that he was a Norwegian Forest Cat but of course didn't have proof.
Bio: He's called Junior because of two things. First, while he was first meeting me on the porch steps, he attacked my shin and bit it, at about the same place that a friend's rooster had impaled me with his dew claw. Also, when this kitty came inside, he started meowing at the top of his lungs at the first hint of sunrise (which was at about 4:30 am), very much like my friend's rooster. The rooster's name was Junior.
I would like to point out that I started saying, "shhhhh, quiet voice in the bedroom" and within three days Junior would shout outside the bedroom but would go "mrrrp" and "trrrrrrrlll" in the bedroom and learned "quiet voice" better than 99.99% of today's kids!!!
Junior is such a love bunny. He shows his affection by rubbing his nose and face against hands--a Junior kiss!! Speaking of kisses, our morning and evening ritual is for me to kiss him on his lips, which he wiggles away from (stop it, Mom!!!). But when he's sleepy, he puts his nose in the air and lets me kiss him and he loves it, and he'll come kiss me on the lips in the middle of the night. He knows when I've been reading sad stories on Catster, too, because he comes running to kiss my hand. He did that when Jack was taken to his new home and I was missing him already (happy sad for Jack). Junior's special that way.
Junior is a funny, happy cat. It could be said he has a great sense of humor and a very sunny disposition. It is hard to be grumpy when he is around.
Every time I pick up a cat book, I go to the section on Norwegian Forest Cats and I read about their physical and personal traits. And I say, yup to that, yup to that, yup there, and yup there. Intelligent, needs stimulation, likes cold, double coat, affectionate, tufted ears, strong chin... you name it, it's a YES! I just don't have proof.
Lives Remaining: 9 of 9
Forums Motto: Let's play. Now. NOW. I SAID NOW!!!!
Junior Singing in the Car: What you are listening to is Junior singing in the car. This only happens in the car (he doesn't sound like this at home). He makes the funniest noise I've ever heard so I recorded him on his ride to the vet for his annual physical. The words are easy: "Wa la la la la." The first year he did this, I was laughing so hard I could barely open my eyes to drive. I walked into the vet's office red-faced with tears streaming down my face and my hand over my mouth, and you could have heard a pin drop -- they thought I was bringing in a dead cat and bawling my head off. Give it a few seconds for him to warm up and really get going. At the end, you'll hear Tethys in the background.

I got this from my furiend Norman. Please consider donating or calling to send money for food:
"The Montreal cat shelter Humanochat where those cats died (http://www.globalmontreal.com/recalled+pet+food+causes+two+ cat+deaths+in+montreal/6442643277/story.html) is throwing out all of their food now so they need donations BADLY! Mollie from poisonedpets.com talked with her over the phone and gave me this info: The lady’s name is Monica Campo at Humanochat in Montreal. She has over 300 homeless cats and barely any food because it was contaminated. She said no one cares (in Canada) and that I was the first person to call and offer help! Let’s prove her wrong that there are plenty of people who care!
From the article (the newspaper made a mistake it was Kirkland not cat chow): “The shelter has therefore had to throw away their entire month’s supply of cat food. Some of the animals at the shelter also got sick, and two died, though it’s not clear if they had salmonella poisoning. At the time, the veterinarian blamed gastro on the deaths. The recall has been problematic for the shelter. “Everything that was donated for us this month is gone. No donations. We have to go to the vet more, so there is more consultation,” said Monica Campo of Humanochat.
Anyone who wishes to donate food or money can do so here:
P0 Box 23507
Maurice Duplessis, Montreal
Those who want to help the non-profit refuge can call 514-220-0353.”
And btw, they don’t have a Facebook page or a website, so no way to get this word out."
Does anyfur besides me get totally annoyed about these rollovers ads? I can't stand them. There are three on every page and they are located so that you can't do ANYTHING without them popping up. They drive me nuts!
And it seems to me they are totally self-defeating. I am so sick of them that I shut them down the instant they pop up. I don't know what they say and I would NEVER click on one or shop there or give them any credit no matter how many coupons they offer, because they are TOO ANNOYING.
SayMedia must assume all the people on Catster and Dogster have super-state-of-the-art fast processing comfusers and home networks because these rollovers -- which are usually moving (all three of them at once) -- eat up so much bandwidth. A lot of people here are still on dial-up!
I doubt we will get rid of them, because SayMedia seems to think they have perfected the design. First it was Arm and Hammer, then it was something else I've already forgotten, and now it is this Dr someone about whom I will NEVER take time to learn. I can just see the little techno-geeks sitting in a little room wearing pirate hats and a patch or two, saying to each other, "Avast ye mateys, they can't get away from us, we have them surrounded on top, side and bottom of the page. Harharharhar." -- like it is so clever. NOT.
