Arrival Story:
I had seen Samson around the area on many occasions but wasn't sure who he belonged to or whether he had a home. He was frequently in my garden. One day, he appeared at my door with a badly swollen eye. I took him to the vet and was told to keep him indoors for two weeks. Twelve years later he is still with me! Much later on I discovered that he had been born as a farm cat called 'Tigger' and had moved round several houses on the street before settling with me. Sadly, in July 2008, Samson was diagnosed with a tumour in his small intestine. He spent his remaining 3 weeks in his much loved garden, reading hundreds of cards and emails from his friends and died on 27th July.

Bio:
Samson shows a remarkable eagerness to verbally communicate with humans and will hold a long conversation with you. Needless to say, he always gets the last word! Over the past year, as I have been studying Japanese, he has also learnt to respond correctly to several Japanese commands. Samson died on 27th July 2008 after a short battle against cancer of the intestine. He will be greatly missed.

Samson's death made the front page of this week's South Manchester Reporter - he would have liked that. Thanks to all who continue to leave gifts and messages. Sorry that I have been unable to reply to you all - it took me two hours on Monday just to read them all!

Goodbye Samson

Samson has been put to sleep this morning as his health declined sharply overnight. He had become very weak and frail over the last few days and we both knew it was time to say a final goodbye. He is leaving a huge hole in my life and home. Thank you to all his Catster friends for their support during these last hard weeks.
