My handsome big boy Nile,
I will always remember and never forget...
-how you would sit and give me your paw on command
-how you could open doors and even opened the door for me once when I was locked out
-how you good naturedly let me do impersonations with your ears; baby bunny, Yoda, butterfly, Scottish fold, American Curl
-how you tolerated the Mickey Mouse ears I made you wear from Disney
-how you licked my hair in bed to the point that I had to hide under the covers to escape the Nilemonster
-how you slept on your goose down pillow above mine at the head of the bed and usually had some part of you touching me
-how upon the first time meeting puppy Logan you growled and she immediately went into a down. We called you our dog trainer
-how at night I would hear you use the litter box and then hear the door handle as you checked it to make sure it was locked, you were our night watchman
-how you would curl up on the back of the sofa above my head
-how you loved food and how we had to have you eat in your own private "dining room" so that you wouldn't eat everyone else's
-how you were so loving and gentle at home but a holy terror at the vet's office
-how you had such a tiny meow for such a big guy
-how your tail was a barometer of how you were feeling, usually held straight up
-how soft your fur was and that it never matted, unlike your brother's. I guess you got the good genes
-how you and Fred would wrestle, boys will be boys!
-how a little while later you would be curled up sleeping together
-how I could do arm curls with you rolling down my arms, all 20+ pounds
-how you would pull yourself by your front paws on the wire shelving to get to the cat food bin
-how the top of your nose would be wet after you ate
-how you loved sleeping in the corner of the screened in porch
-how everyone would say "that's the biggest cat I've ever seen!"
You will always be in my heart.

What an exciting day! I was just lying around (as usual) thinking about food (as usual) when I heard Mom make that special sound she only makes when there are T-R-E-A-T-S! But she sounded so far away! I went to investigate and the sound was coming from the other side of the door leading into the garage.
I heard Mom yelling "Nile, open the door for Mommy" and making that sound that makes me drool with anticipation. Silly Mommy, she locked herself out! So of course I reached up and pulled the lever and Bingo! the door popped open. Mom kept telling me what a smart boy I am and gave me some TREATS! Yum!
