Likes:
Dried catnip, ham and getting her way is a favorite too.

Pet-Peeves:
Getting a bath, being stomped by my boxer when we play (he's heavy!), when my toys are stolen by my boxer and not getting my way!

Favorite Toy:
My dog is still my favorite toy.. I really like the dollar store toys too though with the jingle bell on a string with a cat nip toy attached - that makes me jump around!

Favorite Nap Spot:
Anywhere I want! But mostly on the back of the couch where I can watch outside and in mom's chair - - the best seats in the house!

Favorite Food:
I'm a chunky kitty - I like it all! Tuna, my kibbles, the dogs kibbles, ham, milk, cheese... I could go on and on there are soooo many yummy foods!

Skills:
I can stand on my hind legs, straight up like a prairie dog, for quite a while if I want to see something bad enough or get a chunk of ham!

Dwells:
indoors and outdoors

Arrival Story:
We moved to the Roseburg area in June. About one month later we went out on the town to a local tavern. After the drinks we went outside, the husband sat down in the middle of a parking lot and three little kittens jumped out from under a pickup parked there... he called "Here kitty, kitty..." and Roxanne walked over. He scooped her up and said "Hey babe, do you still want a cat? - - Well here you go, you can have this one." So she came home with us and he forgot we had acquired her in the morning. But we cleaned her up and kept her!

Bio:
Roxanne started out nameless, dirty and full of fleas the size of a small Volkswagon! She is truly a stray but she's a princess at heart and thinks she should be treated that way. She came with an upper respiratory infection that wasn't obvious when we first got her. She developed this crud and looked like she had gone to kitty school and gotten beaten up. Swollen eyes, sneezing and generally nasty looking. After 2 attempts to cure her and finally getting rid of it and getting the 2nd shot in her - she is fine.... finally. One little strange tidbit about her - we found that she had two sets of upper "canine" teeth - - kind of looked like a sabertooth tiger / shark!! The vet said they usually see that in little dogs, not so much in cats... but they said it's because the big kitty teeth didn't line up ontop of the baby teeth to push them out... so the vet told us they would charge us like $12.00 to take them out - - we waited... and they fell out on their own... Mommy has smarts! She wanted to make sure it wasn't going to cause me big problems but she also wanted to make sure she wasn't wasting money -- - That's tuna money!!!!

I've got the golden ticket!!

So.... the other night I decided I had complained enough about getting outside and not getting any results... I didn't think my kitty box was nearly clean enough too.. so I decided I would take things into my own little paws!! I went number one on dad's side of the bed the other night - and in a big way too! He already doesn't like my wacky antics much and this one has him not showing me any love at all!! Holy Mole - I got kicked outside... what I always wanted - - but I didn't know that that white stuff outside makes everything incredibly cold! I'm not used to that and didn't really know what to do with myself! I sat on the bench outside the door and cried really loud! Fortunate for me, mom really does love me! She came back out and got me, brought me inside and tossed me into my kitty box room and she shut the door!! Apparently she wasn't totally loving me, but she didn't want me to freeze.
The next morning dad threw me outside first thing and that made mom worry really a lot. I haven't been outside on my own for a long time now. She kept trying to call me back inside after I got brave and left the porch. I'm really digging this going outside stuff though, now that I'm a bit braver. I monkeyed up a tree and down it too. Mom isn't totally thrilled that I am going outside cause I'm super-white and when I come in I'm more of a mess than my dog! I even came in with a worm stuck in my hair... that grossed out mom BIG TIME! I'm sure this means I will still be getting baths now that I'll get dirtier all the time.
Mom is less worried now though, since I did come back to her after dad left.. and when I'm done being out I come to the door and howl like a banshee to be let back in!! I still love being in where it's warm... so I'm not totally converted to outdoorsie-kitty life.
ps. A little advice... don't pee on your parents bed - - they don't like it one bit!!

Big fun

Well I'm a bit older now... successfully fixed and still full of it!! My dad thought that if I were fixed that I might calm down - especially during the wee hours of the night...WRONG. I only took a break from yowling around when I was still doped up. So, since I'm a wild woman at night the parents have been parking me in the front bathroom at night so they can sleep -= can you believe it??? I guess drooling all over mom while I'm sniffing her face, walking all over her chest to find a comfy spot and talking loudly in the hall didn't get me too far! Mom says that when we get into our forever house I will probably be going outside -- on purpose even! Then I can be a little hunter and talk to everyone in my outside voice!
On another happy note Dad made me a cool box out of cardboard and some duct tape! It's my favorite - - who would have thought? He taped it shut and cut some holes into it and one big round one in the top where I barely squeeze through. The dog thinks this is fun too cause he can't get me out - but he tries and he pounces the box a ton - - what a dork, but it's a really fun game!! That's all for now - - Roxy

Stitches

Well... I got my stitches out the Monday of this week. We went back to the same vet in the nearby town (Dillard) where I got fixed. The desk lady told us the other girls (maybe the ones who normally do this) but she said that she could remove them so mom handed me over and we went into the back room. Mom was patiently waiting in the front room and I was being tormented in the back. I was hollering back there and mom heard me! The lady brought me back to mom and said that I probably didn't like them too much right now - - Uh Duh! Pain to me from someone = I don't like you! But I loved seeing mom again and when we got back into the truck with Kai, I loved on him too! I looked like a football with the stitches taken out. Mom told me that I didn't have to ever go back to that vet place unless I was dying. I'm soooo glad and I think mom is glad about that too! Seems kinda strange that the stitches were like a thread or two twisted... not like other vets that use something that either dissolves or is really smooth like a fishing line... but oh well.. it's done now. Mom and dad are very impressed that I'm so very lovey now... extra-lovey!! I'm not running around yowling either and that makes the parents very happy too! But I do talk to the outside kitties at night - - I tell them secrets when there is a window open or at least the blinds aren't covering it up! It's a fun game I do at night.. since I sleep all day. That's the news in my world. Love Roxanne!
