Arrival Story:
I adopted Detail from The Friends of the Plymouth Pound. He reminded me of my oldest cat, Ronnoco, and I just could not resist bringing him home. I was told that he was feral and had been found and cared for by an elderly couple. His original name was Blackie. He was about 4 months old at the time of adoption. I chose June 29th as his birthday, though it may really be around the 18th.

I celebrate Detail's birthday on June 29th, since I am not sure of the date of his birth. It may be closer to the 18th, however. Until Oct. 1,2007 Detail was my "baby". On that day, he met his new little "brother", Tully. Detail got the nickname Tweeter when he was a kitten. I used to swing a wand with a feather attached to it and say "Tweet, tweet, tweet, tweet, tweet." Detail would always go to the door of the closet where I kept the toy hidden. He loved this toy so much, that I started to call him Tweeter. Detail was diagnosed with a thyroid condition in 2008. This condition affected his heart. He also suffered from a chronic infection which caused his nose to constantly run. He took his meds like a little trooper. I nearly lost him in late July, but he rallied and remained with me for another 6 weeks. He took a turn for the worse last night. Since my vet was closed, I took him to an emergency animal hospital where I was told that his kidneys were failing and that he had a 50-50 chance of survival. and perhaps only a few more months to live. Since I did not wish to put him down in an unfamiliar environment or leave him there for several days of treatments, I opted to bring him home in the hopes that his vet would be available in the morning. Detail barely survived the night. I checked on him after feeding my other 3 cats and attempting unsuccessfully to reach his vet. I discovered that my beloved Tweeter had quietly passed away while I was doing so. I am comforted in knowing that he is no longer suffering and that he died in a place that was familiar to him while surrounded with love. He has now crossed the Rainbow Bridge where he will be cared for by my Mother who passed away 3 years ago tomorrow. Detail will be buried at the local pet cemetery where two of my former cats are at rest. I will miss my precious little boy, but he will live on in my heart until we meet again one day. I am so thankful that God placed him in my care and gave us 13 wonderful years together.
