Arrival Story:
I agreed to stay home and go to college on the condition that I could adopt a cat. I knew that I wanted an orange cat because I have always adored Milo and Otis. I went to the SPCA shelter and found a cute kitten, but the representative did not feel that I should adopt a cat. Haha! I was upset, but I decided to go to the animal shelter. They had one orange kitten that had just arrived. He was so pitiful looking in the back of the cage and he bit the worker who pulled him out. They put him in a box for me and I put him in the car with me. He cried sooo much that I let him out and he rode on my lap. He was covered in fleas. I called the vet and they said to bathe him in Dawn dishwashing liquid, so I did. Then we were back in the car to get his shots. They flea dipped the poor little guy and gave him his shots. He had many frequent repeat visits for eye infections, upper respiratory infections, etc. They ultimately told me he had some severe illness. I spent a lot of money on Tang and was not about to give up on him. When we played with him, he would bite and wrestle then he would pass out. We finally figured out that all of his problems were due to dehydration.

Bio:
It has been a little over a year since Tang was diagnosed with diabetes. He was finally put on Lantus insulin which really seems to be working. He has his ups and downs and finding the right food is difficult, but sometimes he evens comes to me to get his insulin. He likes to go for walks outside, eat all of the time, and he loves to chase his younger brother. Tang passed away today July 15, 2009, from kidney failure. He didn't suffer too long, and he will be greatly missed by his family.
