Arrival Story:
I came to live with my Daddy in 1995 when I was about 6 months old. My Kitty Mommy had hid me under the deck outside Daddy's house. I finally convinced Daddy to take me in. (I made kitty #4.) Of course looking helpless while I gazed longingly into the house through snow flurries was a help.

Bio:
I am battling histoplasmosis, a fungas in my lungs, for the second time. I was first diagnosed in 1999/2000 when I was 4 years old. The vets in our area (then Cleveland, Ohio) had never treated this before, so they said I was going to be a guinea pig. Luckily, that meant that the vets treated me for free (except for lab work)! I had to take medicine every day for 9 months and get a number of bone marrow samples taken from my hips (ouch!). The constant shaving of my fur was really annoying and I felt very embarrassed with the shaven patches. Anyway, I made it through the first round of treatment and it has been years since I have had any problems...Several months ago I started losing a lot of weight. Back to the vet (we live in a different state now) again. They said that I had a reoccurrence of histoplasmosis. I have been taking the same medication for 3 months now and I am doing better. I have even gained almost 2 pounds back! Please send me good thoughts and wishes. 9/2/10 Tigger went to the Bridge today after a recent decline, likely from his histoplasmosis. We will miss your comforting, loud purrs here at home, but we know you are feeling healthy and whole once again. We will always love you, Tigger. ALWAYS!

Tiggy Wiggy's Wiggly Diary

Anniversary of an Angelcat

It has been one year today that I have been at the Rainbow Bridge. Time sure does fly. I have gotten pretty settled in, I have a place right next door to my bother Bear's and Lacey's place. It is a small place of my own. I get to see sister, Toones, a lot also, and my little brother Squeak. They live with Bear and Lacey and help take care of their kits. (Do you have any idea how many they have? Let's just say this...they need a touring bus just to go out to dinner.)

I spend a lot of time looking down at Earth. I have my mom and dad to watch over, grandma, and all of those other brofurs and sisfurs. And Tally. Sweet, sweet, Tally. She is my bride, my beautiful wife. How I miss her so. How I miss them all.

I am OK here. I am healthy and happy. I know I will always be loved and missed, but I have a purpose here too. So many to purr for, so many to visit as they heal, so many to escort through the Bridge gates. I am an angelcat, my work is never done.

Me, this old catchelor! It is true! My girl, Tally, and I have been together for a couple of years and we have been wanting to get married....but things keep coming up. Since my health hasn't been all that well, we decided that now is better than never! MOL! If anycat wants to join us, it will be in the Catster forums, and will begin after the Nascat race ends. Dress is informal, fur is purrfectly fine since this is an impromtu wedding. We would like anyone to share the day with us.

I'm being held captive!

*sigh* Still in the hospital. I am none too pleased. They said my fever is down - I am getting fluids and some antibiotics in the IV. You know what that means - an UGG boot is to come. Right now I have a purple badge of courage on my right paw until it is time to bust out the Ugg boot.

I am feeling a little better today. Mom and dad came to see me. When they opened up the porthole to my oxygen tent and called my name, I was sure I was dreaming! I opened my eyes (I was dreaming about my beautiful fiancee Tally and our upcoming wedding.) and there was mom and dad! I tripped trying to get over to them so fast! Those darn IV tubes! I stuck my head out of the porthole and yelled for them to get me out of there! Did they? Nope. *stomps paw*

I have to stay tonight again, and hopefully I can get to go home tomorrow evening. The doc wants me to get some more oxygen tonight and start weaning off of it. I think I am going to get a bronchodialator tomorrow as well. That will help open up my airway. The doc still isn't sure what the cause of my recent lung problem is - if it is an infection, if my histoplasmosis is progressing worse, if all the stuff blooming is causing me problems...he just isn't sure. I am not sure either, I just know that I don't like being sick, and I wanna go home.

Thank you everycat for all of the purrs. I really appreciate your love and concern.

Tiggy
