Arrival Story:
My Landlord told me to get a dog. ( shady neighborhood ) well, i decided I'd rather have two cats. I wanted a boy and a girl cat, and I wanted an orange one. so, when we got to the rescue group in DC, we found Max, and his brother, ( Nathan ) and a girl kitten that was the same color as nathan. We put max and the girl kittie in a holding room to see how they interacted, and the girl cat pretty much ignored Max. we brought Max'es littermate (nathan) in, and they immediately started playing . Nathan won our hearts. I couldnt bear breaking up the brothers.

Bio:
Nathan is the Alpha Cat. He adopted the " I dont hit girls" stance with Ruth when she joined our family this past year ( Nathans new sister by marriage ). However, after months and months of Ruth ambushing Nathan again and again, Ruth pushed it too far. Nathan had to show her whos BMOC. ( ruth is fine, but now has a healthy respect for Nathan ) Nathan greets the day by assisting you in the bathroom by manning the sink. He will head butt you if you talk to him.

Nathan on his birthday in 2006. He stumbled around like a drunk, and we ended up taking him to the UGA Veterinary Hospital for an MRI. He continued to lose motor control, but then made a turn around and regained motion, but only to the post stroke stumbling. Never-the-less, he could get around, chase Ruth (stumble chase) and use the litter box. This March he had a second stroke that effected the left side of his body. He could no longer get around on his own, and spent his days soiling his towels on his bed and eating and drinking what was offered him. His quality of life had diminished to being self-confined to a small master bath. We made the incredibly hard decision to relieve him of his pain in April. He will be sorely missed.
