Sun Sign: Quick Bio:
 Birthday: January 5th 2007
 Coloration: Orange Tabby

Likes: Kibou loves to play with two of our dogs, Charlie and Daisy. The three of them all chase the red laser cat toy together. When she isn't playing, she's sitting on the ledge of a window checking out what's going on outside.

Favorite Toy: She loves the red laser cat toy and her fish toy.

Favorite Nap Spot: She naps on her "throne" that sits up next to one of the windows in the front of our house. We sometimes call her our guard cat, since she's always alert to what's going on outside.

Favorite Food: Kibou is currently eating a rotation of EVO, Wellness, and Taste of the Wild. If she had her choice, she'd eat tuna all day.

Skills: Being able to keep up with a forty pound Border Collie?

Dwells:
indoors

Arrival Story: I've been a volunteer at the Kansas Humane Society since 2006 and have often gotten attached to animals. One day, I saw this little orange kitty that seemed awfully lonely in one of the bottom cages. :( I gave her a hug, and of course, got very attached. I told myself that a great owner would come and adopt her, but as time went on, no one came. People adopted the kittens, but hardly anyone showed any attention to that little orange tabby. Days before she was to be put to sleep for being at the shelter too long, I finally decided to adopt her myself. She's such a sweetie pie, and I knew she'd fit in well at my house.

Bio: Kibou is a little snuggle buns! She gets along very well with other cats, so we suspect she was probably formerly owned by someone who had other cats and gave her lots of cuddles. It's fairly common for cats of elderly people who have went into a care facility or for the animals of people who have passed away to come to the Humane Society. Regardless, she was obviously given a lot of love in the past!
The Humane Society estimated her to be three years old, but my veterinarian said that he thought she was more around ten months to a year old when we adopted her. I believe the vet, since she still acts like a kitten in many ways. She's a bundle of energy, that's for sure!
Her name, "Kibou," is Japanese meaning, "Hope." I thought it suited her, because she's a cat that's been given a new hope. :D
