Arrival Story:
He used to belong to a friend of mine. Due to a situation beyond his control, he was unable to keep his three cats. He asked if I could take them, and luckily I could. One of the cats (Leon) passed away from cancer before the day I was to pick up the cats. The other cat was Big Al, and Hoadie was very close to him. Big Al was an older, diabetic cat who I had for 8 months before he became very ill and passed on. Poor Hoadie was heartbroken, as was I. He cried and yowled every day and night and kept looking for Al. Even today, two years after losing Al, when I let Hoadie outside, he knows exactly where Al is buried and will go to the spot and smell the ground (underneath a lilac bush where Al used to like to sit and watch the world).

Bio:
My friend had adopted him from an animal shelter in Atlanta. He was told that Hoadie was very stressed and scared, that he had been adopted out twice, but returned twice because in both cases he wouldn't come out of hiding. He was scheduled to be put to death that very day. My friend adopted him on the spot. I was very sad to have lost my dear Hoadie on August 1, 2005 to liver cancer. He is now resting next to his friend Big Al under the lilac bush.
