Playing with water from the faucet, cuddling with Mommy or Daddy, sitting on books when they are in the process of being read. Obsessively licking the Mommy.
Cleo. When Mommy ignores him when he demands attention. When Mommy won't let him obsessively lick her neck and face. When no one will allow him to drink from the faucet.
Monkey tail and laser pointer. Anything he can tackle and pretend to gut.
Favorite Nap Spot:
On the cat tree in the office.
Tuna or salmon. He'll eat nearly everything.
Tried hard to think of something, but- no. (Bless his little heart...).
In the mid-90's I lived in Dallas, Texas and worked at a vet hospital there. One morning a woman ran in the door holding a tiny ball of fur, no bigger than a tennis ball. She had witnessed, while on a 6 lane interstate, somebody toss him out the car window while driving about 50mph. She risked her life by stopping her car and actually retrieving him from the median strip. When he came into our hospital he was mad as hell, hissing and spitting and trying to bite and scratch everyone who came near. He was probably about 4 weeks old. He was badly banged up. One eye was solid red from bleeding into the eye, and he had road rash all along the side of his tiny face. But the worst of it was that one of his front arms was paralysed, a critical nerve being severed in the trauma. I took him home and iced him all night long after he spiked a temperature of 107. He survived. I was in love. He permanently joined my life at that point. At six months of age, his shriveled arm was amputated and he has never missed it.
Toosie thinks he's a dog for the most part, growing up during an impressionable phase with a saluki and a borzoi, who were always incredibly gentle with him. He comes when he's called and he craves attention. He is slightly retarded due to the rough start he had, with the head trauma and the life-threatening body temperature at so young an age. He is lucky to be alive and if he wasn't so much of a fighter, he definitely wouldn't be.
