Arrival Story:
A coworker's friend was giving away kittens and dumped Zoe on me when she was just 5 weeks old. Poor Zoe! She was SO tiny that Sean took one look at her and said, "I hope that kitty lives." Zoe was able to eat kitten chow but wasn't fully weaned and kept trying to suck on my ears/nose while I slept. We had hoped that our older cat, Mia, would play "auntie" to Zoe, but they never bonded. Zoe grew (BOY did she grow!) into the type of cat that is described as "unpleasant" by everyone except for Sean and me.
Bio:
Zoe came from a litter of 3, but only 2 kittens survived the C-section birth. We think that Zoe may be part Mau based on her markings, vocalizations and former athletic tendencies. She used to fetch a tiny foam ball and chase laser pointers to the point of exhaustion. In the past few years, with the addition of the youngest cat, the dog and the baby, she has been prone to "depression eating" and has gained several unnecessary pounds.
She's very clean, nondestructive, quite expressive and an excellent conversation piece ("Oh my God...that's the fattest cat I've ever seen!" is something that we hear a lot). Truthfully, if I admitted to playing favorites, I would have to say that Zoe is tops on my list.
