Arrival Story: ♥ Iggy was just a few weeks old when he and his brother, Shadow, started showing up to eat and play. We don't know exactly where they came from, but we believe from the neighbors. Since they seemed to enjoy their visits and returned day after day, I decided they could stay. So, I gathered Iggy & Shadow up and took them to the vet for neutering & shots. Iggy has been a permenant fixture ever since. His littermate Shadow disappeared a year later, and no amount of fliers or search time ever produced a good result. Some one took him in and adopted him, we guess.

Bio: *hearts; Iggy is an outdoors/indoors cat. He absolutely loves to be on the hunt! He hunts snakes, mice, rabbits, moles, bugs and birds. He like to make his rounds daily and keeps the barn mice free. He will tolerate being in the house for a while, but then he insists on returning to the wilds of the prairie. He has plenty of pastures to explore, so he keeps busy. Since his brother disappeared, he and Tigger have become best buddies (after tig tig showed up). He enjoys his hugs & kisses, but would rather do it on his terms, not yours. The complete opposite of Tig. We Love You, Iggy! *Sadly Iggy died in his sleep on January 13, 2008*

Forums Motto: Happy Hunting..

This poem is written for the "Picture Poem This" contest at the Pet Poetry Group, ending Saturday February 9, 2008 called *Head Bonks*. Each week there is a new photo to write a poem about.
This is the present photo.
Picture Poem This
I think this is one of the most adorable photos I've ever seen. It reminds me of Iggy, so much. I sure do miss him, alot. This poem is for him...
*Iggy Bonks*
by mommy
*Iggy Bonks* was a game we played,
each morning when you greeted me.
It was fun for you to bonk me good,
until I spoke, "Good Morning, Iggy!".
Eye glasses crooked on my face,
you purred as I placed them straight.
I could see that twinkle in your eye,
because you knew I'd take the bait.
Bonk me once, then bonk me twice,
knowing with each you'd get a pat.
You had it figured right all along,
that I'd never refuse my Iggy cat.
I think you simply liked my laugh,
as I fumbled around with my glasses.
You had that silly Oscar the Grouch grin,
that I miss more with each day that passes.
I hope you don't forget me Iggy,
in this new world that you've found.
I'd hope there's lots of new friends,
that you can *Bonk* all around!

It's with a very heavy heart that I tell you that I've left my family on earth to go be with my family in Heaven. I passed away in my sleep, on my bed. I'm not sure why, maybe my heart gave out, though I was only 5 years old (6 this spring), but all I know is that I've left behind my best friend, Tigger. I never really liked Domino that much, but he was growing on me.
Mommy is very sad, because she feels like everything she loves is going away, one by one and she doesn't understand it. I'm pawsitive she was thinking I'd be around for at least 10 more years. Mommy says there must be some big changes coming in her life...
"Iggy...I don't know why you left me and it breaks my heart. You were so beautiful, friendly and comical. Every morning you greeted me when I got home from work with a big head *bonk* knocking my glasses off my face. You were so funny. I'd fix my glasses, you'd *bonk* me again. You always hugged my neck and meowed at me. You brought me gifts every time you went out for a hunt. You kept my counters free of *debris* and you simply enjoyed life. You stole my heart almost six years ago when you showed up here as a little baby kitten. Just the cutest little *booger* alive. Come morning I will miss your daily *bonk* and will cry for you, once more..."

It's a Bird! It's a Plane
by Iggy Cat
Yoo Hoo! Look at me I'm way up high.
Prancer insists I go for a ride.
A ride? On a deer? I just don't know.
He snorts, "Just grab the fur of my hide."
Can't get far if we're stuck on this wall!
"Boy, haven't your heard I have magic?"
That's impossible you have no legs!
"That surely indeed does sound tragic."
"Don't judge a book just by it's cover,
nor by the velvet on these antlers.
Boy, just close your eyes then count to ten,
then hold on for some fun adventures."
He said count to ten. "One, two, three, four."
My eyes opened to a big surprise!
Lo and behold we were flying high.
So high I couldn't believe my eyes.
Above the clouds so fluffy and pale,
Stood stars that flickered ever so bright.
I could almost see Heaven from here!
Who would believe I'm a cat in flight?
Prancer dashed from this house to that one,
leaving hoof prints on snow ladden roofs.
Sprinkles of dust laid thick in the air.
This should make for some comedy spoofs.
What is that? "It's a bird!" "It's a plane!"
"Oh my Lord! Look! It's a cat with horns!"
Headline of the local newspaper?
"It was Jesus in a crown of thorns!"
What would that fetch on Ebay?
