The cardiogram

Well....momma took me to the docs again. where they shaved a patch under my front leg, spread some nasty goop where they shaved, and then I held real still while they looked at my heart.

MY HEART IS NORMAL!!!!! NO HCM!!!!! NO HEARTWORM!!!!

I still have to take theophylline for my asthma...but momma is weaning me off the methylprednisone and lasix.

Momma says she is soooo glad she got a second opinion before she gave me the first docs meds. The medication she gave momma would have killed me.

I just wish we hadn't had to wait 6 months to get the cardiogram. But the doctor wanted to make sure I was big enough.


THe WHOLE family is soooo happy for me. Momma got me and the rest of the furkids fancy feast to celebrate and pappa took momma out for dinner. We were all so happy.

Yikes

Will, I'm on my 3rd trip to the doctors in the last 3 months. Momma can't afford all but basic examination stuff. This time I went in having a hard time breathing again. Turns out I have asthma. NOw the doctors can't decided if I have astma, HCM, or both. Hopefully momma can get 300 dollars together sometime soon and can get me the echocardiogram so the doctors can tell what is wrong. Now I'm taking lasix twice a day and this nasty fish flavored stuff that is a bronchiodialtor and steroid mixed just for me twice a day.

BUt I am still playful, and I can't get enough food. Momma has to ration me or I'll eat everything put in front of me and Lyle's food, and velvet's food, and Blaze's food.

I'm special now

Momma had to take me to the vet Friday morning. I was wheezing and coughing and gasping for air and she got really worried that I got into something again. As it turns out I have a congenital heart problem called HCM and momma caught it early. I have to take Lasix right now to ge tthe fluids out of my chest and I get to eat the same special food blaze does....I like the royal canin Renal LP. The vet said that I didn't get sicker before cause I was still little.

I find out in 2 weeks how bad my heart is...I get to have the nice lady at the vets do an echocardiogram on me......they get to tickle my belly again.

Marriage and Moving

Well, My momma got married and then we did something called moving. All my stuff got put in boxes. All of a sudden one moring momma put all od us (Lyle, Me, Blaze, and Velvet) into her car and I got scared and hugged velvet with everything I had while the car was going. Next thing I knew, I was put in this new home. It smalled funny but when I looked up I was this giant tree covered in carpet. Now velvet and I fight over who I going to lay at the top. Momma thinks it is funny. This tree reaches to the ceiling and the quickest way down for me is to jump from the top to the nice padded couch. It is so cool up there. Lyle can't get me because momma says he's gotten too bottom heavy to climb and Blaze is too old and doesn't want to climb, so the tree is mine.

Miss Gremlin Tart

Well, Missy has decided to go into heat at the early age of 4 months. We have had to deal with this psycho kitten howling all the time. She goes in heat for a week and out for 2. This roun d she started marking everything in sight...including work clothes that were laid out nthe night before. She is so cute when she is in heat you just want to smother her....with kisses of course. She keeps sucking up to Lyle who tries to appease her, but 30 pound ball of fluff versus little kitten tart just doesn't work. Luckily Lyle is neutered so even if he does connectg, no kitten from our kitten.

She goes in for her spay on this Friday morning.

The thief

Well, Missy has gotten herself a really really bad habit. Makes us wish we could stay home and monitor her more during the week. She has begun stealing anything she can drag off. I found her hoard the other morning looking for a missing sock. She had a pils of fake fur mice, socks, hiking headlamps, a shirt, socks, my hair scrunchies, and a belt buried under our bed. We didn't realize what she was up to until she was caught dragging a pair of sunglasses across the living room headed for the bedroom. This morning she swiped one of my socks as I was putting the other one on. She is QUICK, VERY QUICK!!!

New furniture

Well, after finding out the other cats can't get away from Missy constantly playing. New cat furniture was bought for the house. We thought it was high enough that the older cats could get into the cradles, but soon found out Missy is a climber too. The other cats have taken to sleeping int he cradle tops and when they hear Missy coming they swat her back down to the bottom if the tree. MIssy then finds something else to do that is fun to her until the cradle she wants to be in is empty.

We love her to death, but hope she comes out of play mode soon. She's extremely cuddly when she first gets up from a cat nap, but then it's non-stop play for about 4 hours until she goes back to sleep again.

Psycho Kitten

We have decided that Missy is psychotic. she terrorizes Lyle to the point the poor boy hasn't had much sleep lately and is gettting grumpy. She Stalks and constantly punces on Velvet ( who is afraid of MIssy) causing Velvelt to hide in the bedroom.

Now the little gremlin has figured out how to get up on our bed. # nights of psycho kitten bouncing around and attacking anything that moves is wearing thin. Hopefully she will get into the routine with the rest of us soon before Lyle flattens her in mid run.

The trip

Well, Missy was left home alone for 2 days for the first time with the other cats. She has proceeded to annoy Lyle by not letting him sleep....you can just hear Missy yelling "play" as she jumps on Lyle. She has decided Velvet is a play toy and is constantly attacking poor velvets tail. Velvet is shy enough as it is without Missy stalking her. Blaze has decided Missy is a "baby" and has begun cleaning her head.

Missy is so adorable, but can she get herself into trouble. She stalks and attacks everything in the house. The worst is my littermaid. She thinks it is her personal sandbox and has been flinging litter everywhere. At least she hasn't hitched a ride on it like Lyle used to do as a kitten.

Right now she plays about 75 % of her day and the rest of the time is spent sleeping, pooping, and eating.
