Sepcial attention, food, and specially-attentively prepared food?

His sore gums from plasmacitic gingivitis and OTHER CATS!

Favorite Toy:
Rambo hasn't been very playful for the last few years, but since he's put on weight he can sometimes be caught chasing other cats.

Favorite Nap Spot:
In a patch of sunlight, on furniture where he can leave drool spots, and especially on blankets left laying around. And he likes to sleep by his imaginary girlfriend, Darla.

Favorite Food:
People food- but he normally gets canned mixed with liquid supplemental formula with warm water added, because he won't drink plain water on his own and he can't chew dry food.

The privilege of being the only of 15 cats that may go outside on occasion, urinating massive lakes by the front door to greet guests, and über grumpiness towards other felines.

Arrival Story:
Rambo worked as a mouser in a local feed store where he spent his days lounging around the aisles waiting for customers to come spoil him. Our whole family loved to go to the feed store just to see Rambo, and one night while we were petting him we told the owners how much we loved him and were always happy to come to the store. Their response, "Ya' want 'im?" We couldn't believe they'd part with such a neat cat, but apparently he had developed a habit of chewing holes in feed bags, forcing them to re-bag and sell "Rambo specials." Their only condition was that we find a replacement mouser, and luckily our next door neighbor had a friendly feral she took in but couldn't keep, so we made the trade and Rambo came to live out his life with us. The kitty we traded in went through a few name changes but has now settled down and loves her life as the new feed store cat, she loves to climb on customers' shoulders and suck on their ears.

Rambo was born Rameus, and spent his early life in a normal home before he went to be the resident mouser at his feed store and his name was simplified to just "Rambo". We inherited him when he was 6, and since then he has had worms from the mice he used to catch, two skin tumors, eye infections and more eye infections from a fight he had with a raccoon when he was younger, worsening arthritis which was helped a bit by supplements, and finally plasmacitic gingivitis- which has gotten so bad that he can't eat dry food, he doesn't like to groom himself, and occasionally food gets stuck in his gums and hurts so bad he hits himself in the face trying to get it out... The poor guy lost a lot of weight from all this but we worked out a good system for getting enough nutrition in him and kept him going for a few more years. We loved good old Rambo, king of our household, even if we kept torturing him by giving him new brothers and sisters and fostering cute little kittens. -Rambo passed away on June 25th 2006, just short of his 16th birthday. He was just too old and in too much pain to keep going. He held on for a long time eating his special soft diets and he went quickly and peacefully. Our little patriarch will be missed dearly; it is truly the end of an era. R.I.P. our sweet grumpy old man.
