Arrival Story:
On my 22nd birthday, my boyfriend took me to our local Humane Society to find a cat. We were there for hours, all the cats were so sweet! We had it narrowed down to 2 different cats, when I walked past Charlie Bird's cage...he saw me looking at him and started purring and doing barrel-rolls! When I opened his cage and he launched himself into my arms, I was sold. It was too late to adopt him that day, so we left a deposit and headed for home- it almost broke my heart that he must have thought that we were leaving him, too! How was he to know that he'd found a home? Bright and early the next morning we were back to fill out all the forms and take our Charlie Bird home. And was he ever glad to see us! He's never lost that either; he's the happiest little (or not-so-little) cat ever!

Bio:
The sad story of how he ended up at the Humane Society: We found out after we adopted him that Charlie Bird and 8 other cats had been found in a crate, on the side of a highway, in January. We live in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, so January's a pretty cold month (it can go down to -40 C/F or even colder, not including the wind chill). The people at the Humane Society figured that the cats' combined body heat had kept them alive.
