Meet our new family members!

Now that mommy has moved into a house that allows pets, she and daddy went out to find a new kitty.

I think the time is right. :)

And guess what? They didn't find one kitty - they found two! So, welcome to the family, Diego & Sierra!! :)

My First Birthday at the Bridge

Today I would have been 13 years old. Mommy would like to say thank you to all of our wonderful catster friends who have been supportive and kind. Really, thank you is hardly enough. There are no better people than our friends on Catster. We're sorry we haven't been active in a while - hopefully that will change soon. :)

If it's not one thing, it's another...

Hi friends! I had to stop by quick and write a diary entry, just to let everyone know I am still here, but lots of stuff has been going on, so we haven't been able to keep up with emails and stuff. Sorry about that! :-( We hate to miss birthdays and prayer requests!!

As some of you know, one of my furless brothers - the oldest, Tony - broke his ankle pretty badly back in December. So many of you were praying and we appreciate your support and friendship!! Tony is doing very well. He is wearing an ankle brace for the next 6 months, mostly to prevent re-injury. He's very happy because he can wear his regular tennis shoes, mol!

About two weeks ago, mommy's knee was hurting her very badly. She has hereditary arthritis, and has had trouble with her knees since she was a little kid. She was recovering from knee surgery when I came into her life. :-) Anyway, the pain was bad enough that she finally called the doctor. X-rays show mommy has bone spurs in her left knee. The doc gave her an injection in her knee to help with the pain and swelling, and recommended wearing a knee brace when she is doing a lot of walking or exercise. The injection helped a lot and mommy feels much better!

Okay, so, Tony is doing better, mommy is doing better, then on Thursday night she got this phone call: "Steve just got hit by a car." Yipe! Steve is one of my other furless brothers. Boy that is a scary phone call! Mommy rushed to the hospital - thank goodness we are very close to it - and found Steve scraped and bruised but nothing worse than that. No concussion, no broken bones! The ER doctor said Steve's guardian angels were working extra hard - well, he does have me and my doggie brofur Corky watching him from the rainbow bridge! :-) Steve has "road burn" on his knees, hands, and the right side of his face. It is healing very nicely, no problems or infection or anything. Mommy has been putting aloe vera on his face to help prevent scarring. It has been 5 days now since the accident, and Steve was ready to go back to school today. :-)

Well! I guess that about sums it up, mol!!

Scrapblog!

Somebody here on catster/dogster suggested checking out a site called "Scrapblog" - we want to thank them, but ditzy mommy can't remember who it was! *rolls eyes at mommy*

How Cold Is It?

How cold is it?

It's so cold that...

...Travel agencies are advertising tropical vacations in Antarctica.
...The local Starbucks is serving coffee on a stick.
...When we milked the cows, we got ice cream (the brown cows were giving chocolate ice cream).
...Roosters are rushing into Kentucky Fried Chicken and begging to use the pressure cooker.
...Politicians have their hands in their OWN pockets.
...I spilled scalding-hot drive-thru coffee on my lap... and THANKED the McDonald's staff!
...Grandpa's teeth were chattering... while they were still in the glass!
...Angelina Jolie has been downgraded from "hot" to "tepid".
...We've set up an ice fishing shack... in the bathtub.
...To assuage my head cold, I ate a bowl of chicken soup... with a knife and fork.
...At the city morgue, you can't tell the stiffs from the staff that works there.
...For their daily good deed, boy scouts are helping to de-ice little old ladies.
...The flashers are walking up to people and just describing themselves.
...We've had to salt the hallway.
...My shadow froze to the ground.
...When we put the frozen pizza in the oven for 25 minutes, we got... frozen pizza.
...The Iowa DOT has started issuing iceberg warnings for motorists.
...People are trading in their cards for zambonis.
...Parents are actually ENCOURAGING their kids to play with matches.
...The cops aren't yelling "freeze" anymore to stop the bad guys. It's now just sort of a "given".
