Ironicly it is food because he is diabetic
doesn't like his tummy rubbed or his tail pulled
His leash so he can go outside for a walk
Favorite Nap Spot:
My bed when I am not in it and Livingroom chair
Huneydew mellon and cantalop
He gives me paw and other paw, he will sit when I ask him to for treats.
Him and his sister were the last 2 in the litter and no one wanted them so I took them. His sister soon passed away and I was left with only Garfield. 13yrs, 3mo, 14days later Garfield was put to sleep as he came down with cancer.
At age 5 Garfield developed diabetes. It took about a year to get his blood sugar under control and then went 3 years without needing insulin. He then had to go back on insulin and has been on it ever since. The past year has been a little difficult trying to keep it within limits. He has lost a bit of weight due to the diabetes. Garfield has now been off insulin since the beginning of June. Lets hope he stays insulin free.
I have trained him to sit, give me paw, give me other paw, and he will kind of dance, [ more like give me paw and other paw over and over again], all for getting some treats. Sometime I can trick him into doing tricks without treats, but not to often. He will also go out for a walk on a harness/leash. I take him Pow Wow camping with me as well and he loves the adventures. He won't go on long hikes with me though. Everyone loves him at the Pow Wows.
One time his half-sister was hanging out of the window and Garfield went out on the porch from the window and got up under her so she could get back into the window and then he came back in through the window. Wish I had a video of that one.
