 Coloration: Tortie

Likes: I Love good food (good = meat flavor) ..... Sometimes I get lost in head scratches by my Pawpa and wonder why he can't scratch everywhere head, chin, behind ears, at the same time.... enjoy getting brushed but when its done its done--don't need no more

Pet-Peeves: If Pawpa's eatin' , Buddicat is too

Favorite Toy: Anything new that jumps funny when pawed at ...

Favorite Nap Spot: on her Pawpas bed on her designated pillow, also next to the computer keyboard (the FURRY computer keyboard!) where she can coax a face scratch from the working fingers

Favorite Food: canned beef or chicken entres

Skills: Wish I liked bread ... I love to knead... specially before bed! Also, even if I am kittynapping I can hear when Pawpa is in the kitchen (eats!). And sometimes I wake up Pawpa by stretching my paw out tight so it rattles against him like an alarm clock!

Dwells:
indoors

Arrival Story: About 4 years ago Buddicat started coming to my home every day for nibbles. She seemed to be homeless-- had no collar. After a couple months I got to know her a little better and saw she had been de-clawed. I felt she probably couldn't defend herself or climb to escape danger very well... So, I let her begin coming inside to see how it would work out. (I never had a cat before). She knew the litter box protocol--which is what won me over I suppose! She's been my favorite furry friend ever since. I've even written a song for her.

Bio: About a whole year later a neighor only a few doors away noticed Buddicat in my yard. She stopped to tell me that Buddicat used to be hers but thought she left because of a new cat in the house. We had a good laugh.... she told me her name was "Fatcat" and that was perfectly understandable because I was still trying to get her to lose some weight (as the Vet suggested). Its not very common that a homeless cat comes to you overweight ... ;-)). Listen to "Blues for Buddicat", a song I wrote for her at http://home.earthlink.net/~cooldot calm/ ... but don't worry, she was not injured as the song may suggest.

Buddicat .... You are missed like crazy. When I wake up in the morning and you are not sitting on the back of the sofa, when I go into the kitchen and you are not following , hungry, anytime I open the door, anytime I look at the clock and its near a meal time ("Buddicat is probably getting hungry"), when I sit down and put my feet on the shoe warmer in a manner to leave space for you, when I avoid laying a guitar against the sofa arm because it's were Buddicat jumps up, ... I'm glad we got to be best friends for these last 6 years of your life, wish you could have told me what all your other years were like ... wish you could have stayed longer ... like always ...
I knew we had reached our max "buddy" level when you walked on my back that one morning a few months ago ... because having been declawed by a previous owner you weren't comfortable on rounded/unstable things like that, and that meant you trusted me completely. I'm sorry your cancer interfered with your purring and made it hurt those last days. I know you can purr on where you are now .... Purr On, My Buddy .... Purr On!

Hey Cats! S'been a while. And its almost Thanksgiving so I thought I'd mention what i been thankful for lately. One) Carmallowcat has found a home and seems to behave more better now. Two) Jeffurry--my Pawp--has planted some nice little patches of very green grass that he keeps in wonderful kitty grade condition. Long enough to get a nice nibble everyday when I go out for a little sun or fresh air. Three) Jeffurrycat has put the brakes on his E-bay guitar mania so he's not constantly taking up potential napping spaces from me. (And actually one of the two guitars he bought this year is quite beautifur. If only he would leave it out of the case sometime I could cuddle up with it and show him how much I love the intrigueing sound those strings make when I paw at them.)
Have a Happy Thanksgiving Efurryone

22 Feb 2008 -- I've found the most effective technique yet to communicate to my Bi-Ped my need to sample the meats and cheeses that are part of his diet. I have found that sneaking up on him very quietly and reaching up with my front paws as high as I can on his side gives him such an amusing surprise that I am almost guaranteed a treat of whatever he is eating. Sometimes I misjudge and its not something I want. But I can ALWAYS tell when there's meat or cheese so thats when I make my move. I stay quiet for a few minutes to let him think I've found an irresistable sun puddle. The I quietly move in ... I stretch up high on my rear legs and reach up with my paws. A couple times I actually scared him and he freaked and so I freaked cause I thought he might accidently drop utensils on me but then he quickly acted like I was the cutest thing on four legs ... well... two legs, sometimes. Its a technique I assure you will work with YOUR Bi-Ped behavior training. And I've noticed that he seems to find it most cutesy when I just lean on him very gently ... and he is most surprised that I can do that ... like I'm some sort of clumsy dufus ... I"M a CAT JOE!! THAT IS MY SPECIAL SKILL! I CAN MOVE WITH PRECISION AND SPEED! ..... or with extraordinary softness and grace, as needed ....
...... Have fun with this all you cool cats!!
