Arrival Story:
Sigh...Skittles was a semi-feral stray that started hanging out in the barn with my other barn cats. Some strays come and go, but he decided he liked what he saw and heard, so he stayed around. He had to have surgery when I took him to the vets to get neutered and ended up rehabbing inside the house. Gran came to visit, fell in love and that pretty much determined his fate.
Bio:
When we got to the vets the day he was to be neutered, the vet called and told me his lower jaw from his chin back was split. He had been living on the streets and I had no idea. So, they wired the bottom jaw together but he of course needed to be rehabbed inside where he could be watched. I had no intention of having another indoor cat - he was going to go back out to the barn once he had healed. Well, Skittles had other thoughts. While he was healing, my Mom came to visit and the two of them fell in love. There was no way she was going to let me put him back out, and that's how he became another one of my indoor babies. From his pictures you can tell he's adjusted fairly well, hasn't he?
