Two new firsts for me

I was out for my nightly walk around the block with Mom and I suddenly got this crazy little thought in my head.

I was walking past one of the neighbor's trees and decided to take a closer look. I stood up against it - nothing unusual - just checking it out. But all of a sudden, I decided why not climb up? I got halfway up the tree before Mom was able to pull me down. I did not want to let go and I was so mad. But Mom said it would be dangerous bceause I was on the leash. Dangerous-schmangerous. I'm super kitty! My very first tree climb!

Oh, and a couple of nights ago, I'm just starting my walk and I turn around the corner and there's this strange cat just sitting there blocking my way. He was black with white paws - I've seen him from inside before but we'd never actually met. We kind of just stared at each other a bit and then he walked away. Once I realized he wasn't gonna try any funny business, I decided to follow him. Mom walked me about halfway around the block so long as I didn't get too close. But then I started howling a little, letting him know this was my territory so Mom picked me up and took me inside. She's such a meanie!

Phooey on tiny kittens

Mom went for a walk today without me! I was most upset. Then she comes home cooing about Auntie Melinda's new kitty. "He's so tiny, he's so cute." Phooey! Who cares if I was 3 lbs bigger at the same age? There was just more of me to love. Plus, I don't attack people's feet - I was much more well-mannered as a baby.

I'm a Big Boy Now!

Today is my first birthday!!! Mom & Dad came home last night - they had been gone for several days so I was feeling pretty cooped up. While they were gone Auntie Melinda came by to spoil us - we got lots and lots of treats. But she wouldn't let me out no matter how hard I tried. I did escape for a minute when Mom & Dad came home though. hehe.

But Mom took me outside as soon as she woke up today. Having a birthday is great! I heard someone mention a mini hamburger for me too. I was a little disappointed Dad forgot to bring me some lobster. He didn't promise or anything but I was really hoping. After all, he did eat 3 of them for his birthday while he was gone. He also ate a lot of clams, not sure what they are but I'll bet they are tasty.

I was so excited to be outdoors today, I jumped into the basement window well. But it was too deep for me to jump out of. So, Dad went downstairs and let me in the basement window. Glad we went out early because now it looks like it's going to rain and Mom won't take me out in the rain.

Time for my afternoon nap but there had better be a burger for dinner!
