My Sister!!

OK ... so my human parents have finally realized why I like to escape. My sister ... which they have named Sally because she's 'so silly' ... lives with one of the neighbors.

You see ... Lois is my Mom, and Mickey was my Dad. I first escaped to play with my Dad, but I can't find him outside anymore. The day that I didn't see Dad outside was a strange day. My humans cried a lot that day and were all mooshey-lovey-dovey. They kept saying something about seeing him someday at the Rainbow Bridge.

So after that I escaped to play with Mom ... you know there's nothing like Mother & Daughter quality time! Boy ... after the last time I escaped I thought I was going to be in BIG TIME TROUBLE. I think I have my mom trained because all I have to do is walk up and down on her back when she's sleeping and she gets up. She gives Molly, Max and myself a super early breakfast, fresh water and she even cleans out that scary litterbox.

Well one day Mom opened the door to take out that stink from the litter box and I thought I'd just kind of sneak out. She realized I slipped out right away so I ran as fast as I could up the street. I got to the top of the hill when she came out with my ultimate weekness ... KITTY TREATS! I ran down the hill to the front steps and that's when she caught me. I was really surprised ... I didn't think she was that quick ... especially at 4 o'clock in the morning.

The other day they finally figured out my desire to go outside. My sister came by the front door, just like Mickey used to do. Mom looked out the door and that's when she finally met Sally. Sally is so cool. She comes by and plays with me at the door almost every morning.

Her humans let Sally play outside all day long! I was kind of thinking that Mom would let Sally come in the house and play with us, but she said something about Sally having fleas? I dunno what those are but Mom said that until Sally gets rid of her fleas she can't come inside. Maybe Mom will get Sally one of those flea collars like Lois wears ... I just hope it's not ugly, Sally's a cutie! ---- ONE OF SALLY'S PICTURES IS POSTED WITH MINE ... SHE'S WHAT MY HUMANS CALL A CALICO KITTY!

Two Hours Of Freedom!

WOW! I'm such a sneak ... when my mom walked out the front door, I snuck out behind her. She never saw me! Then that nosey busy-body Molly ... yeah ... she had to stick her head out to see where I went ... Mom saw her standing half out the door when she ran back up and chased her inside. She didn't know I was still lurking outside. Both my Mom and Dad left in separate cars ... that's when my true freedom finally began! They were gone for two whole hours. Then Dad came home and found me sitting on the steps. OH MY GOSH ... he was sooo mad. He told me I could have been run over by a Trolly ... what's a Trolly?? Molly doesn't like me much anymore ... and honestly I'm a bit disgusted with her ... if she wouldn't have gotten caught with her head out the door she could have joined me for two hours of playing with Mickey. But it's all good now ... I'm home with my mom, dad, Biggie-Wiggie and Molly. I have this feeling I'll never get a chance to go hang out with Mickey ever again :o(

My human's have been yelling a lot recently. I finally figured out what it was ... they're Red Sox fans. Maybe some day I'll be held in as high regard as Curt Schilling. Who's your Daddy Manny?? FYI ... If I had been a boy ... My name would have been Manny ... eeeekkkss ... they've got it bad!

Minnie has been adjusting well to her new home and family, however Molly and Max haven't been very thrilled to have her here. She was kept in a different room of the house for the first couple of days when I finally decided that either the 3 of them meet and get along or else! John said I should give it a few days but I'm one for the 'sink or swim' way of doing things. When Minnie joined her brother and sister it wasn't as scary as I thought it might end up being. Of course Molly and Max did their share of hissing but neither of them swatted her or attacked her. They kept their distance and survived. We did have to feed them in different places because Miss Minnie seems to think she can eat from everyone's dish.

This morning I received the surprise of the day ... Molly and Minnie were both sleeping on my bed ... kinda cuddled up against each other. It was sooo sweet! Molly awoke first and started to lick Minnie on the head. I had to get the camera to get a picture of this. When I came back into the bedroom to snap a picture or two, they had both moved to opposite sides of the bed. :o(

I'm sure they'll take another 'cat nap' together again ... and this time I'll make sure I get a picture of it! ;o)

Visitation

We went to the Humane Society yesterday to officially adopt Minnie. While we were waiting for them to bring us to her I took a stroll thru and visited with some of the other animals. I must say that I was very impressed with the facility. It appears to be rather new. Everything was very clean, no smelly cages, and the animals all appeared to be happy. They had several adult cats ... made me wish I had room to adopt them all. When we finally made our way to where the kittens were we couldn't find Minnie. I was afraid that they had given her to another family. When I bent down to look into the bottom row of cages I found her laying on a sheepskin bed, sharing the cage with another kitten. She looked at me and came right to the glass, pressed her nose on it and reached her paw out to touch my hand. I was so thrilled to see her. The poor thing must have thought she was being abandonded again. We were told that we couldn't take her yet, since we needed to have her scheduled to be 'altered'. We were able to hold her and play with her for a short time. I had a pair of socks that I had brought with me to rub on her so that I could get her scent to bring home with hopes to help Molly and Max adjust to her. It was sad to put her back into the cage. We will be able to pick her up Saturday afternoon. I can't wait to have her in her new home ... surrounded by love and in time 2 feline friends who will love her just like we do.

Day TWO

So here's the scoop ... Because we found Minnie, we had to take her to the Humane Society where they scanned her for a chip. Since she was 'chipless' we were told at the front desk that she would need to stay there for 4 days in case her owners should come looking for her. After day 4 she would be ready for adoption. We were placed on a list to be the first to adopt her. It was sad to leave her there, but we needed to so that we could legally get her as our own. Yesterday afternoon we received a phone call from the agency saying that she can be adopted out sooner. They said that since she's so young ... 5 months ... they would like to have her adopted out ASAP. So we're going to get our 'Little Woman' today! Molly is going to be very upset. She is definatly not crazy about this new friend. She responded the same way when Max was brought into her world, and after a few days she began to accept him and now they're the best of friends. I hope they grown to like Minnie too!

Tomorrow, Minnie will go to Banfield - The Pet Hospital to see if she has a micro-chip. If she does, and the chip is registered, we will contact her owners and send her home. If she's not micro-chipped then she will get vaccinated and become a member of our family. Molly doesn't care much for her now, and Max isn't thrilled to have her around. Tonight she's sleeping in the bathroom with her own litterbox, scratching post, a wind up alarm clock, and a blanket to crul up in, along with fresh water and a bowl of Purina One. Stay tuned for updates ... We're not 100% she's really a she ... guess we'll find out tomorrow.

The Arrival!

Little Minnie was found today, Aug. 17. She came by for an early dinner when Molly first saw her. I went outside and she came right to me. While holding her she became very fascinated by the cars going up and down the street. Once I put her down she started to walk down the driveway. I was afraid she might end up in the street so I brought her into the house. She's loves to cuddle, and has the sweetest purr.
