It is time for me to say goodbye. The vet says that I had a thickened heart. My time on this earth may have been short, but I had so many people who loved me that my days were well-spent. I will miss all of you:

*My foster mommy Karen and foster daddy Scott and all of my brothers and sisters there, they gave me a wonderful life and I will miss them dearly
*My mommy Ashley and daddy Lucas who I only had a few weeks to spend with but I know that they loved me as much as I loved them
*My brother Leo, even if we didn't always see eye-to-eye, and my sister Minco who was the best partner in crime any cat could have
*Everyone at CAT who made me feel at home: JohnJ, Hunner, keseph, aardvark, moogle, and even Sam, though he kept making jokes about Korean food

I found my forever home! :) :) :)

I'm purring this diary entry from my new forever home! Foster Mommy's typing for me, though, because we haven't yet transfered my page to my new mommy and daddy.

It's a lot quieter here and less crowded than at my foster home. There are two humans, my new mommy and daddy. There are also two other cats, my new sister and brother. They're both persians, and their names are Minco (my sister) and Galileo (my brother).

Foster mommy, foster daddy, and I took a ride in the truck to my new home. I was scared, but excited too. They dressed me up in a red harness and leash that Carbon sometimes wears, and brought along my catnip mousie toy. Also something round and shiny they called a license. In the truck, I wanted to hide under foster daddy's feet, but I had to stay on foster mommy's side of the truck. She let me hop up onto her lap and look out the window for a bit, but everything was moving so fast that I climbed down again and watched the shadows.

When we got there, they called up to the apartment and my new mommy came down to open the door for us. There are lots of doors in my new home, and long hallways that I will eventually get to run down. When we got into the apartment, Minco came up to me to see who/what I was, and we meowed at each other. She seems friendly enough, although she doesn't like when I come right at her. I sniffed around for a couple minutes, then slunk underneath the dresser. My new parents got down on their stomachs and petted me, telling me it was alright, and letting me get used to their smells. I could hear my foster parents telling me it was ok, too.

I spent quite a bit of time under that dresser, getting used to my new surroundings, trying to figure out why we were all here and what this place was. Finally, I came out and went over to my foster parents, rubbing against their legs. They encouraged me to go say hi to my new parents, which I did, and I decided I like them! Minco is nice, too, but stayed at a distance. Leo sat in the window the whole time we were all getting acquainted. I explored the living room, the closet, and even a little bit of the kitchen before going back under the dresser to hang out. My new daddy came and gave me a treat under the dresser.

When it was time for my foster parents to leave, I growled and hissed at them, because I knew a little bit what was going on. They petted me, and I shared a nose kiss with foster mommy, then rubbed against my new mommy and meowed at her. When the door opened, I sat down and looked at it, but stayed inside my new home while my foster parents left. They're so happy I've found such a nice new forever home!

And...I'm going to stay on Catster! We're going to transfer my page over to my new mommy once she makes an account, and my new brother and sister are going to have pages of their own too! Also...I'm going to get to go to work with my new parents! There's an IT group called CAT, and I'm going to be their mascot! Oh, and I'm going to have a new name, too, once they decide on one that suits me.

*happy purrs and smiles*

Kinda sad

The lady who Foster Mommy thought was going to adopt me hasn't called in a while or returned any calls. Foster Mommy says I shouldn't worry, that I'm still loved and it just wasn't the right home for me. She says she's still looking for the right forever home for me, though, but it may take some more time.

What happened?!

Foster mommy took me to the vet's today, my first visit there, and weird things happened! First, she LEFT ME there! By MYSELF! Second, the people put things up my butt, poked me, felt all over my little body, then everything went black for a while. When I woke up, I was clean, but I smelled a bit different, and I felt different! My butt hurt, and something was missing back there.

Foster mommy came and got me, and the people had snuggled me into my soft blanket in the stroller all ready for the trip home. But we didn't go straight home! We went to her work, where I got to meet my NEW mommy for the first time! She loved me, and held me, but I wanted to sleep so she put me back into the stroller. I've had such a long day, and Foster mommy put me in a room by myself, so I think I'll just lie down in the dark here and sleep for a while.

I'm mewing with joy and happiness because, when Foster Mommy came home from work today, she told me she'd found someone to be my new forever mommy!!!! :) :) :) MEW!!!!!! One of her coworkers is going to adopt me in a couple weeks, after I get my rabies shot and get neutered. I'm going to live with adult humans (my new mommy and a roommate), and five human kids, and have two other cats to play with as well! Yay!!!!!!!!

I fooled everyone for a bit! I sent out anonymous rosettes from "the Little Spook", and had detective cats searching for me for days! :) Lucy found me, but she wasn't playing detective, then Detectives Rocky Ann, Pooh, Mercy, and Rusty found me! :)

What a busy day!

Wow! Mommy took me a lot of places today! It was the first time I've been outside again since she brought me here, and I was a little nervous at first. A couple times, I thought she was going to leave me somewhere, but she always took me with her.

I followed her all around the house today, never letting her out of my sight, rubbing against her ankles and mewing to be picked up all the time. I knew it was a special day. When she got out the stroller, I was scared, because it was so big and I'd never seen it unfolded before. Rori jumped right in and started playing, though, so I knew it had to be alright. My favorite jingle ball went in, then Mommy picked me up and put me in! She opened the big door (left the screen door closed, but unlocked it) and turned around to pull the stroller closer. She started giggling, because there I sat, in the stroller, and Rori was sitting pretty in the bottom basket, going outside too! She gently took Rori out, telling her she'll get her own turn in the stroller another time, and wheeled me outside. Rori looked sad, but I promised to tell her all about my adventures when I got back.

We first went on a scary thing called a bus, but I was brave and didn't cry at all. Then, we spent a while at the mall, where lots and lots of humans were. I didn't like it, but I was a good Spook and even let some of the humans pet me. We went to a store with lots of clothes, and a lady picked me up there. I let her hold me without complaining! Mommy kept on telling me what a good Spooky I was, and I mewed back and purred happily.

We went on a bus again, and this time when we got off I smelled D-O-G-S! I backed up into the way back of the stroller basket, but Mommy reassured me that it was ok. We walked into a pet store, and there were D-O-G-S, but they were leashed to odd-looking tables. A lady picked me up out of the stroller and held me nicely, petting me. She was very gentle, and massaged my paws. Before I knew it, or could protest, all my claws were trimmed and my ears checked! Back into the stroller I went, and Mommy got me new toys and some yummy food.

On the bus again, for longer this time, then out in a strange building. We went in, and Mommy let me out again. A man picked me up and petted me, talking softly to me. I purred and let him hold me. Then, he took something out of his pocket. It was a pen, just like I play with at home! He petted me with it, then held it out for me to grab in my claws! When he put it away, I looked in his overall pockets for other pens or other kitty toys, and tested my teeth on some interesting plastic things. He took one out, and showed me it was a plastic string! (zip tie) We played with that, but then I wanted to get down and explore. Mommy said no, so we went upstairs.

Wow, upstairs is a fun place to be! There were bookshelves to crawl and hide under, lots of chairs to curl up on, and a funny language! Mommy speaks this language, and so does someone else who was fun to play with. Mommy teaches this language (Norwegian) to other people, and she tutored the guy before her regular class because he'd missed a few classes. After tutoring, she took me all the way downstairs to her class, and I got to play in a big room with lots of people all speaking that funny language. I ate my food, then climbed on the table and walked around, meeting all her students! One of them, another guy, had a pen, and a lady had a nice coat I liked (snuggled in it for part of the time). Once, I got lost in the kitchen (accidentally got stuck in the cupboard) and mewed very loudly for Mommy to come get me.

After Mommy's class, one of her students drove us home. I was scared because it was a car, and hid myself under Mommy's seat. I didn't want to get out when we got back home, so Mommy had to ease me out from under there. I was so tired when I got back inside, I barely had enough energy to sniff everyone before climbing onto the bed and falling asleep!

A very tired, very happy,

Ewww! Diarrhea!

I was up on Foster Daddy's tummy, being petted while he thought he was going to nap, when I farted. I got scared and ran! Daddy laughed, then looked down at the blanket. I'd left a little trail, nothing much, but he and Foster Mommy checked my butt. I screamed at them that it hurt a little, and I didn't want them lifting my tail for any reason anyway. They set me down again, and I left a little pool on some clothes, so now I'm not allowed on the bed or the laundry basket. Daddy put a towel on top of the laundry basket and Mommy covered it with a crib pad so in case I get up there during the night I will not leak through onto the clean laundry. I'm so glad they did that, because the clean laundry is my snuggly place! I'm feeling ok, except for the diarrhea, so they're not super-worried, but they're going to keep an eye on me and it'll probably go away on its own.

Wish list for a new family

Foster mom says I'm doing well enough in her home to be adopted. So, here is my wish list for my adoptive family:

1. Be patient. I growl and hiss at new people and cats, so you will have to work with me for a few days to get used to you. I also growl at my toys, just for fun.
2. Have toys. I love to play! My favorite toy is a feather wand, but I also like balls, string, tassels, baskets, and other kittens.
3. Neuter me. This is a must, so I can live a healthy, happy life.
4. Pet me. I mew when picked up, but I really like being petted and purr loudly even though I mew at the same time.
5. Have yummy food. I LOVE my (people) food, and will guard it from other cats by growling and putting my body around every piece of it I can get under me. I will also climb on your food dishes while you are eating and try to snitch off your plate (and usually succeed). I like cat food, and will eat it as well.
6. Be ready for a big cat. My paws are huge, a good indicator of my future size.
7. Never abandon me. I already was abandoned once and had to fend for myself for a bit. I never want to be on the streets again. If you don't want me, don't adopt me. If you adopt me and decide to let me go, return me to my foster mom.

A stray cat's prayer

Foster mom found this for me on Catsy's page

Dear God, please send me somebody who'll care.
I'm so tired of running and sick with despair.
My body is aching and filled with such pain;
And dear God I pray, as I run in the rain
That someone will love me and give me a home,
A warm cozy bed, and food of my own.
My last owner left me alone in the yard...
I watched as they moved, and God that was hard.
So I waited a while, then went on my way
To rummage in garbage and live as a stray.
But now, God, I'm so tired and hungry and cold;
And I'm so afraid that I'll never grow old.
They've chased me with sticks and hit me with straps
While I run the streets just looking for scraps.
I'm not really bad, God, please help if you can,
For I have become just a "Victim of Man."
I'm wormy, dear God, and I'm ridden with fleas;
And all that I want is an Owner to please.
If you find one for me, God, I'll try to be good.
I won't scratch the carpet; I'll do as I should.
I'll love them, play with them, and try to obey.
I will be so grateful if they'll let me stay.
I don't think I'll make it too long on my own,
'Cause I'm getting weak and I'm so all alone.
Each night as I sleep in the bushes I cry,
'Cause I'm so afraid, God, that I'm gonna die.
I've got so much love and devotion to give
That I should be given a new chance to Live.
So dear God, please hear me, please answer my prayer,
And send me somebody who will REALLY care.
