Arrival Story:
When our son moved out and took his cat, Ziggie with him, our beloved Nattie-cat became very lonely. I sooooo wanted to save a siamese from this area, I started the search. After several months, and still no luck, I was at the local Pet Smart during a weekend adoptathon with the Love-a-stray rescue group. We had adopted out a kitten in late Dec. 06 to a woman that decided 4 months later, she was unable to care for an adult cat (she never used her "free spay" certificate that came with the kitten, and wasn't willing to put up with a cat in heat). We found out that she was trying to give the 6 month old kitten (that was now sick with a cold and tapeworm) away. As with all Love-a-stray adoptions, if you no longer want an adopted pet, we will take them back, and that's just what we did. After 2 months of foster care, several vet visits for the illness/worm infestation she was now well enough to be spayed. She went in for surgery on Tues., came back to the shelter on Weds., and was brought to Pet Smart on Sat. for the adoptathon. Well, was she SCARED! She stayed in the corner of the viewing crate shaking like a leaf. I took her out for a minute to show her to someone, and she immediately crawlled up to my shoulder, put her little face into the fold of my neck and started purrrrring and went right to sleep!!!!!!!! About 15 minutes later, my husband came into the pet shop to buy dog food, and said "so what is our new kittie's name?". I tried to tell him she wasn't ours and he said "YEA, RIGHT!!!, WHO ARE YOU TRYING TO FOOL!!!". Well, he was right, I didn't adopt her but she certainly adopted me! If you look close at her face, even though she has small ears, she does have a wedge shaped head and slanted eyes (maybe there is some Siamese in there somewhere after all), she sure is a talker! Although, I always tease her that her meow is broken!!!!! She never says a full meow, it's always just a part of a squeekie me - - . You have to read her lips to see the "ow" part of it!!!!

When Tink first came to us, her name from the adoption place was "KaKo". After she gave my neck such a snuggle, and with her buff and cream coloring, we thought we would call her "Buffy, the Vampire Slayer"! Within 48 hours of having her home, and seeing the mischeivious twinkle in her eyes and fun loving attitude, we knew she was a stinkie "Tinkerbelle" (after the famous fairrie with an attitude)! She got her "Flopsie-Mopsie-Cottontail" nickname, partly because she has the softest, most cuddley bunny fur ever, and mostly because whenever we go to pet her, she becomes a boneless mass of floppy kittie. Even when her doggie brothers, Duke or Falcore, come near her, she thinks they might pet her and she just drops to the ground, rolls over (belly up), and starts to purr! What a silly kittie she is, like the doggies have hands with which to tickle her Bellie-Belle belly!!!!
