Dear secret pal,
Thank mew furry much for the delicious sushi. I don't know who you may be, but I am positively thrilled to have you as my furry own secret friend. Thank mew also for the blue ribbon; I hope it is a blue ribbon for handsomest kitty? Oh well, I don't care what it's for, I'm just proud to have a blue ribbon!

An Assassination Attempt

March 11th 2008 9:40 pm

Today my food smelt...odd. There seemed to be a white chalky substance crumbled into it, and a few drops of cream had been added to the mixture in an unsuccessful attempt to disguise the bitter scent of the powdered poison that had been so surreptitiously sprinkled into my evening meal.
But who? What would-be assassin is responsible for this ignoble endeavor?
Whoever he is, he can't exactly be called a criminal master mind. I mean come on! White powder? Soo cliche, and I could easily smell it, even see it!
Even so, I'll nap with one eye open from now on.

I'm back from da beach!

Hellooo kitties! Some of you may know that my meowmy and some of our family members left for a little weekend trip to Laguna Beach on Sunday. Now, a fresh change of scenery and a chance to explore new places is always an enriching learning opportunity for a young tomcat, so naturally, I convinced meowmy to take me along. Here's the details on my my voyage to the seashore.
~Day One~
We drive and drive and drive and drive.....and then we drive some more.
We (finally) arrive at the hotel. Meowmy plops me on a big puffy bed like a cloud, I nestle into the downy comforter.....zzzzzzzz.
I wake up full of energy and bounce off of the bed like I have springs in my paws. What's this? what's that? I explore every nook and cranny. When I've got my surroundings down pat, I hide under the bed, and wait for ususpecting feet to pounce on...aha! *crouches, wiggles butt, and prepares to attack*
~Day Two~
I spent most of day two sleeping, so not really much to tell about there; I did watch a pawsome show on the History channel about what the world would be like if hoomankind underwent a sudden mass extinction. According to the show, roughly 100 hundred years after the demise of all hoomans, the deserted buildings of NYC will be hulking vine-covered kitty condiminiums. I kid you not. The show (Life After People) is airing again on March 8th. I suggest all you cats watch and discuss.
~Day Three~
Our little hiatus is coming to an end today so everyone gets their stuff packed up and loaded into the car.
Before we bid Laguna Beach adieu, Meowmy takes me for a walk along the seashore. My eye widens when I see, for the first time, the endless expanse of grey-blue water that is the ocean. I admit I'm kind of freaked at first, but soon my curiousity overcomes my trepidation and I let meowmy put me down. The shouts of "look-at-that" and "I've-never-seen-a-cat on a leash" ensue.
An elderly transient approaches us, "It's a lion! It's a LION", he exlaims loudly. "Is it pure?" he asks, slightly dubious.
"Er, yeah, he's pure white" meowmy says, more than a little thrown off by the vagabond's booming exclamations.
"Can I see him? I just love animals". He says. Meowmy holds me up to the man so he can pet me, but I get scared and jump out of meowmy's arms.
"Don't be scared, baby." she coos.
"Naw, he's just shy." says the old man good-naturedly. "What's his name?" Meowmy tells him my name."HAHAHA, that name'll do 'im alot a good!" bellows the transient. Meowmy smiles and says goodbye to the old man. As we continue walking, another transient approaches us. This time I hide under a bush. Once the coast is clear, I venture out cautiously and follow meowmy back to the car (how could I not, I'm attached to her with a leash). We hop in, and head home.
Well, there you have it: Elijah Featherbone's seaside jaunt. Off to bed for me now, before I wear my claws to stubs from all this typing.
-Elijah (the traveling cat)

Caturday!

I'm having the bestest caturday ever! I got to have a leetle piece of cheese with my breakfast, and when I was done monching, I snuck outdoors to go see my tabby-friend, but then meowmy found me and brought me back to the house. Boo. After I was done being in time-out for being untrustworthy (on caturdays time-outs only last one minute, unless you make sad kitten-eyes, in which case it last 30 seconds) meowmy said it was time to go bye-bye *rolls eyes*. So, I got my leash on and away we went. And guess where we went! We went to see the llama, and the monster-sheep and Mr McChompersons!!! I was so excited, that I kept pulling on the leash to try to make meowmy go faster. When we finally arrived I can say that the llama was as happy to see me as I was to see her. Although she didn't make a sound, she did stare at me for a long while and bat her long eyelashes flirtatiously. Mr. McChompersons, however, was too busy eating to notice me, same with Monster-sheep and a couple of gigantic donkies he was entertaining as guests; oh well, you can't win them all, I suppose. We walked for a bit longer until we reached the back entrance to a church where a mausoleum was located. I personally find graveyards and mauseleums fascinating, so I tried to get a closer look, but of course Meowmy (aka Ms. Killjoy) wouldn't let me because it would be "tresspassing".
Anymew, caturday isn't over just yet, so I better be off to see if I can't fit in a few more adventures before the day is through.... this time without meowmy around to thwart my plans. *shifty eyes*

Morning Dip

Whoever uses this desk chair once I'm done typing is going to find himself sitting in a puddle. For as you can see, I had a bit of a misadventure this morning. I was prancing along the narrow rim of the bathtub, back arched and tail high, displaying my exsquisite feline grace and keen sense of balance.....when I fell tail-first into the tub. Here's the catch though: the tub was filled with water. I sprang outta there like a jack-in-the-box and sprinted down the hall leaving a tell-tale (no pun intended) trail of water droplets behind me. Meowmy said that on the bright side, I now have a very clean tail. I bit her nose.

MEOW!

Today the sun shone very brightly so I spent most of my time dozing in sunbeams. Meowmy was gone most of the day because she had to go see the hooman v*t. She has to go back soon to get an "ultrasound". Of course, that's entirely unnecessary because I could easily give her an ultrasound right here and now. "MEEEOW!" There. I hope that sound was ultra enough because I don't want meowmy leaving me behind for the entire day again. *glares at meowmy*
In other mews, by what can only be called a rare fluke of fate, I was chosen as a DDP today; wow! And right after being DOTD just a couple days ago!

I could barely believe my one eye when I saw my diary was the DOTD! What an honor *puffs out chest*. Thank you and purrrs to all the cool cats who gave me concatulatory rosies. To Baby-G and Little-One, that cupcake was scrumptious *licks frosting off whiskers* you must give me the recipe someday. And to Snowy and co., thanks for the sunburst I'm gonna need it because it's raining cats and dogs here where I live!
This is the most pawsome day....*purrrrs*.

Sunny days

The sun came out yesterday for the first time in weeks! Meowmy gave me the last 3 catnip biscuits to celebrate the occasion *purrrs*. BUT, it is supposed to rain again over the weekend. Poop. Anymew, my to-do list today is:
1. Nap.
2. Figure out how to get out and see my furriends.
3. Snooze some more.
4. Sit and purr for awhile.
5. Sleep.
6. Play with my feather toy.
7. Doze a bit.
8. Bug Emily.
9. Daydream.
10. Look out the window.
11. Take a catnap.
12. Play with light reflections.
13. Bask in a sunbeam.
14. Cuddle with meowmy.
15. Go to bed.

As you can see I'm a very ambitious cat, so I gotta get busy! More mews later.
-Elijah (who is very goal-oriented)

Tag!

I was tagged by Mittens and Kay.
Here are the rules:
Each player starts with 7 random facts about themselves. Cats who are tagged need to write the 7 rules in their Diary & 7 pawsome facts about themselves. Then choose 7 cats to tag and list their names. Don't forget to purr them a pmail telling them that they've been tagged and to read your Diary or send them a fun Rosette announcing they've been Tagged!
Ok, now for the 7 random facts about me:
1. I have a plastic bag fetish; every time meowmy comes back from the grocery store I hop up on the table and chew grocery bags to my little heart's content.
2. When I'm bored I roam about saying "MRRROW MRRROW MRRROW" until somebody plays with me, cuddles me, or gives me a treat.
3. If I come into the bathroom when meowmy showers, she has to keep the shower door cracked open so I can look at the water--otherwise I'll bang on the door incessantly.
4. People usually think I'm odd-eyed because I'm a white cat; however the truth is that both of my eyes were blue before my run-in with the coyote. As my eye healed it was at first red, then orange then pinkish, and is now grey,
5. I'd really love to have a new sisfur to play & cuddle with, but meowmy "can't afford" to take care of a third cat right now. *pouty lip*
6. I once had a crush on my sisfur Emily, but I've moved on from that, mol!
7. My favorite hooman foods are: Mozzarella cheese, yogurt, turkey, ham, and half-n-half, meowmy doesn't give them to me often, though. :(

Now I tag:
My 2 sisfurs: Emily & Ember (is that cheating?)
Sugarpie ( such a sweetheart)
Saki
Simba
Cricket
Smugglesby Ruggleford (love da name)
