It was a dark, cold night outside when my humans first spotted the large gray bird with a hurt wing.
Afraid that it might freeze to death or that some stray cat might get it (not us, we wouldn't do anything like that), they caught it, put it in our traveling case and brought it in the house to keep it warm.
I just couldn't keep my eyes off of that strange creature. It is the first time I ever got to see a bird up close. I'll bet if mom let me, we could have been friends. It seemed fine, except for the fact that it couldn't fly. It had a great appetite for some kind of seeds that didn't even look edible to me.
I kept my new friend company most of the night and was actually gaining a great affection for it, but then Dad said he had to take it to a place that cares for birds until they can fly again, and then turns them loose. So, it was back to normal, with only my boring brother to play with.
Mom took a picture and said something about adding it to Catster. I'm not sure what that means but I didn't think the picture was THAT cute. It doesn't even show my face.
