She's too young to be interested in toys
She can cry very loudly!
I rescued Posey as a tiny orphaned kitten. To read more about how she was found see her diary.
Sadly Posey was stolen by a woman who was supposed to have a "surrogate" nursing cat and had agreed to care for her and return her to me once she was weaned, but would not give her back after that time... The woman is now denying all knowledge of her so I don't know what she did to her...

Rescued Posey the tiny abandoned kitten.
I was petsitting for a friend of mine. She was fostering a 4 week old orphaned kitten and needed someone to watch him for a week. As I had experience with orphaned bottlefeeding, I agreed to petsit him.
I was going to meet a friend with my dog. When I walked out the door I was about to turn right when I heard a loud cry. It sounded like a kitten. It was coming from the opposite direction I was headed in. I started heading towards the sound, looking all around for where the noise could be coming from. I wasn't sure if it was a kitten or one of the feral cats that live in the neighborhood. Finally I located the source: a high, long brick planter attached to one of the houses nearby which was currently unoccupied as the owners just sold it. I looked inside but could not see much as it was 4-5 feet off the ground and there were evergreen bushes growing in it. I moved aside the closest bush and peered in.
There was a tiny kitten under the bushes! She was crying loudly. I picked her up and looked her over. She was dirty and her mouth and nose were covered in dirt. There were no other kittens or mother around. I knew she must have been born to one of the ferals in the neighborhood, but I didn't know where the mother had gone... It was chilly outside and I had no way of knowing how long it had been since the kitten had been fed so I took her inside. I moved the orphan I was petsitting to another room and placed the little baby in a box over the heating pad.
As soon as she was warmed up, I tried to give her some KMR (kitten milk replacement formula) from an extra unused kitten bottle I had... She did not want the milk. Over the next several hours I repeated tried to feed her and help her to go to the bathroom (kittens need to be stimulated to do so, normally the mother would take care of this.) She was not cooperating. I estimated her age to be between 1-2 weeks because despite her tiny size her ears and eyes were fully opened. She is very small for her age, only 5 ounces!
As I offered the bottle repeated she finally accepted it for a few seconds, but she would then spit it out and cry more for her mother... I felt very bad for her because she was having a very hard time accepting the bottle. I am sure it was hard for her because she had never been handled by a human before!
