As the senior member of my cat family, I keep busy teaching my three siblings the wonderful lessons of kitten life. I thought you might like to share in these tips and tricks.

Lesson 1.
Fur toys are wonderful. They smell like those furry things that hop through the grass outdoors, eating daddy's hostas and making him chase them away. Daddy is funny when he yells at the furry things. Sometimes he barks at them and they hop away really fast.
But fur toys are hard to eat when you first get them, and of course, the goal of a fur toy is to chew it up real good and eat it. So here's my tip: drop it in your water bowl. And don't just let it float there - push it in with your paw, until it is soaked. Believe me, it is worth getting a little wet.
Now, your parents may tell you not to do this. They don't mean it - as evidence, check out how much they are laughing while they remove the toy from the water and dry it off. Just wait until they give it back to you, and run it right back to the water again. In less than a day, your fur toy will be nice and soft, and taste oh-so-delicious!
