Arrival Story:
When we got married and moved into our house, we both kept seeing the shadow of a cat in the corner of our eye. I had a rescued Tonk (Captain Hook) while living at home during college, and wanted one just like him, so we found a Natural Mink in California, and had him shipped. He was 8 months old when we got him, just in time for Christmas.

Jericho is everything I hoped for. When we first got him, he was so lonely for his sisters. He would call and call for them. I thought his purr was broken. Not so now! He purrs as greeting and expression constantly. He is always touching us, and would never let either of us sleep without him. He is the first cat I have ever had that would let us sleep in - he will keep us in bed all day if he can. He is anything but sedate, however, especially now that he has a family of 3 other cats to take care of. He is a great teacher, and passes on all his favorite games. One of his favorites is to wait until I walk into the room, and then scratch furiously at my favorite chair. He thinks being squirted by water is a fun game. When I travelled a lot for my job, my husband taught Jericho to jump on command, and to eat cream cheese from his fingers at the table. When I got back, every time I'd reach for something, I had a cat hanging from my wrist.

Jericho's Tips & Tricks

Proper curing of your fur toys

As the senior member of my cat family, I keep busy teaching my three siblings the wonderful lessons of kitten life. I thought you might like to share in these tips and tricks.

Lesson 1.
Fur toys are wonderful. They smell like those furry things that hop through the grass outdoors, eating daddy's hostas and making him chase them away. Daddy is funny when he yells at the furry things. Sometimes he barks at them and they hop away really fast.
But fur toys are hard to eat when you first get them, and of course, the goal of a fur toy is to chew it up real good and eat it. So here's my tip: drop it in your water bowl. And don't just let it float there - push it in with your paw, until it is soaked. Believe me, it is worth getting a little wet.
Now, your parents may tell you not to do this. They don't mean it - as evidence, check out how much they are laughing while they remove the toy from the water and dry it off. Just wait until they give it back to you, and run it right back to the water again. In less than a day, your fur toy will be nice and soft, and taste oh-so-delicious!
