My beloved cat Spot passed last night after an illness of three weeks. She was with my dear friend Sue at her 17 acre farm, The Good Shepard Cat Sanctuary. She fed her warmed up Fancy Feast with some water added to soften it, gave her lots of fluids through IV and another antibiotic shot and tucked her into bed with her blanket. When Sue arrived at the farm early the next morning, she was gone. We all (even mother) have cried our eyes out. Zach has been showing his by anger and foul language, typical for him. He loved her dearly. She gave SO much to this family. I have buried her in the back yard under her favorite rhododendron. Each of us took turns with a shovel full of dirt. I hung a wind chime with cats above her. I can't tell you how very sad I am. Not depressed really just filled with sadness. The funny thing is, this morning when we all got up, we related stories of hearing her meow in the night. It wasn't the Tom that frequents our house, but Spot's yowel she does. Sue said she was saying goodbye to us.

Is it January already? And 2006? What happened? I must have slept too long. Well to update, things in the neighbourhood are about the same with the exception of the mongrel DOGS I have to keep chasing back across the street!!! One is named Patches and is a nasty looking whitish coloured beast. The stupid thing sits in the middle of the road, just sits there, making all of the passing cars go around him! Dogs are SO stupid. OH! Tonight someone is setting off firecrackers! NOT too happy about that! No siree. And the mole/vole population has doubled! I cannot keep up with them anymore. They are taking over. I may have to let another cat come in the yard to help out.
Then again, maybe not.
Happy New Year to all of my wonderful friends (new and old). Stay warm and healthy.

The mistress tried to sneak me into the house today. It didn't last very long because the grandmother discovered our plan. But while I was in, the young mistress took some photos of me:)
It's been very cold here. I spend my nights in the entranceway that goes under the house. It's very warm there. And the neighborhood bullies know better than to mess with me. I may be old, but I still can protect my domain!
So a special Happy Christmas to my friends Athena, Mercedes, Milo, Sissel, Smokey, & Sofie!
Have a safe and good New Year!
