Arrival Story: My family and I were looking to adopt a female cat. We went to the San Jose Humane Society to find either a stray, or a kitten from a litter. We arrived in the cat room where many female cats were in metal cages. Most meowing, wanting attention. "Pick Me! Pick Me!" Some just laying down looking sleepy and bored. It was a very tough decision indeed. If I could, I'd take them all! HaHa! I was browsing, and holding a variety of cats. We narrowed it down to a select few. We knew we didnt want a long haired kitty, since they shed most and contain a lot of dander and hair. So we stayed with the short/medium haired kitties. I looked at a small calico kitty which was in a cage lowest to the ground. But the kitty above her didn't like that, and immediately "grabbed" my attention. Literally grabbed my ponytail and snagged her paw in my hair. She loved playign with it and used that to get the spot light. That right there proved she was the one. She wanted to go home with us. We held her to see if she was friendly and enjoyed attention. She did and showed her affection with a couple of licks and purring action. So we picked her :) She was quite the handful. Being a couple of months old, she had the spunk in her like a tiger cub!

Bio: We lost our dearest Nermal to renal failure. It's a bad kidney disease where the kidneys are practically giving up, due to age and the body shutting down. Once it hits, it hits hard and fast. She lost nearly 3 lbs, her energy, and spunk. I felt really bad for her. She would jump up chairs for kitty treats still like there's no tomorrow, only to lay down with her tail wagging in distress afterwards. Breathing fast for laying down many hours straight, we knew something was wrong. And yes she was very sick. They took blood, and whatever they measure to diagnose this was off the scale. They say a cat's blood level aroun 100 would mean they are dead, and she was 120. Still fighting for life. We had no other choice but to let her be at peace. No more suffering, no more distress and agrivation. There was no turning back the clocks and no cure. Not even the best expensive treatment would help any. We made her apt. to be "put to sleep" on the 19th of september '07 :( the saddest day of my life. She was with us for 10 years and 7 months. She will be missed dearly and NEVER forgotten. May you rest at the Rainbow Bridge dear Nermal. LOVE YOU!!

Lazyness: Nermy loves nappying more than she does playing anymore. She was a spunky, playfull, bratty kitten when we first got her, now she's around 9-10 years old and loves to be lazy. Naps indoors and outdoors. If it's sunny, she'll find a sunny spot and lay down. When she gets too warm, she'll find a shady spot and ...lay down again. I sense a pattern here :)

Dear Family,
I hope you are doing well on the earth you walk upon. I have arrived to the Rainbow Brige safely and send this message of love and greetings to you all. Thank you for taking care of me so well, and being there for me when I was down. I miss you all so very dearly and know I will see you in the future =^_^= Many purrs. I have composed this poem for you and hope you enjoy it :) Here goes:
You first met me in a cage
I got your attention with my paws
In your hearts I felt no rage
No reason to use any claws
We felt a connection from the start
You held me firmly in your arm
We knew that we couldn't part
you took me home away from harm
We bonded immediately as you helped me around
Taught me rules and gave me treats
Our friendship weighed many a pound
Fed me food consisting of many meats
I lived over 10 years with you guys
I scampered around happily enjoying the day
I chased and caught many flies
I purred and meowed wanting to play
The time had came and my life passed
I could not turn back the clock
The time may have gone by fast
But your love is solid as a rock
For that I am grateful and miss you so
I now romp in fields that glow
Butterflies, Dragonflies, Moths fly to and fro
My soul now rests at the great Rainbow~
Till we meet again family! I miss you, many purrs and cuddles ^_^

Lets see, where to begin...Ahh! I waited for my owner to wake up to let me play outside. I went immediately to the grass and munched on a few blades. When I was satisfied, I took a snooze in the neighbor's garden. Some birds were noisey and loud. So I moved to my owner's backyard and snoozed there. I was let in around 12pm, and I went to my food bowl and chowed down. My owner was kind enough to give me 5 kitty treats and made me jump for them from chair to stool. Back and forth. It's worth the effort Yummy! I'm gonna take another nap soon most likely since my day was so full of energy and spunk (sarcasm heh heh!) I hope for more treats later in the day!
