Arrival Story:
Jaime was a very sad story. I saw him in a pet food store in my town known for helping strays and abused/neglected cats. For a small donation, you can adopt cats or kittens from the store. So I saw this beautiful young cat in a small cat carrier. He looked so uncomfortable. I asked to take him out and pet him. They let me but cautioned that he was a little nervous around people. A little was a huge understatement. However he let me pick him up and pet him. The lady was astonished. They actually come to your house in these cases (he was abused as a kitten) to see the environment the cat would be in. They also make it known they want indoor cat only situations. So I told them come on by with the cat. Needless to say, the woman was very happy to see where Jaime was going to live and she left him with me. She told me I was one of the first people to ever be able to pick him up. He lived in my bedroom closet for 3 days without (as far as I know) potty, water or food. He was so scared when he was allowed to roam freely about my house, he didn’t know what to do. Finally, he warmed up to the other cats we have. They are his only true friends LOL. To this day (we have owned him nearly 10 years) he only lets me pick him up (not for too long) and only my husband and I can actually pet him. I can’t imagine what the idiot who owned him before us did to this poor cat for him to be so mentally disturbed. But he’s so beautiful and really a gentle spirit. He loves his cat brothers and sisters. Especially Midnight.

Bio:
I still bear the scars of what happens when you don't let him down when he wants to be let down and not cuddled anymore. Ouch. Sharp back claws on this guy! Also, he came with his name. I didn't want to change it, but I probably should have. Also, in his photo you might notice his one ear is crinkled. He had surgery on his ear and it never flattened after that...poor guy. He's also built solid this guy, I don't think I have any other cats with muscles like he has! ;)
