Sophie had to be put to sleep on May 13, 2005. She was very sick and is now in peace and doesn't hurt anymore. I held her through the whole thing and wished her sweet dreams as she passed on. My heart is broken now, but my baby is happy and painfree.

***** SOPHIE UPDATE*****

I wanted to update Sophie's diary as to how she is doing. She was supposed to have surgery on Tuesday morning to remove bladder stones, however when they did the x-rays, no bladder stones were found. She has been on more medication, but it is looking as though she may have cancer. My options were to bring her home and keep her on some medication for a bit to see how things go or to have them do exploratory surgery on her to try to find out what is going on. I have decided to bring Sophie home, she acts as though she is not in ANY pain at all, plays with her toys and runs around here. I do not want to put Sophie through the pain and recovery of exploratory surgery when she is feeling so good. So, on Saturday morning, she will be coming back home. I spoke to my cousin and she is very anxious to come back home, I think she has to even miss Oscar a little bit! I will never make her be in any pain, and if it comes down to that, we will check into our options, but for now, we just want our Sophers back home! We will update her diary once she is back home and running around! = )

Dear Diary:

Well, I had a very relaxing weekend hanging out here with Coop, I loved it! No being chased around by that bratty brother of mine. Mom came home early today, she told me she had some bad news. Apparently the sample she took to the doctor came back the same way. They decided that I have bladder stones, which means I have to go have surgery. I don't think that is good at all, but Mom kept telling me once that is done I should be as good as new. I wonder if that means she'll quit giving me those yucky pills??? God, I hope so, I am sick of them!

I have lots of sudden bursts of energy tonight, at least that is what Mom said. All of a sudden, I will just run all over the living room and kitchen. I love it, but here is the part that shocks me beyond belief ... Oscar didn't chase me once when I was running around. He's been sleeping on the dining room chair for a long time, he lifts his head and looks at me, but is too lazy to get up and chase me. Not sure why he is so tired, all he did all day was look out the sliding glass door. Mom had it open for us, and I noticed that some feathery things kept walking up towards our patio, but I didn't feel like going to check them out. They make weird noises though and I have to say, if I am sleeping and they start making those noises and wake me up, I will NOT be a happy girl.

Well, I'm running out of energy now. I am going to go upstairs and lay on the bed with Mom and Coop.

Dear Diary:

Well, I know it's been a while, but I have been trying to stay out of sight as much as I can. Mom is STILL giving me that stupid pill. She took last Monday off and took a sample back up to Dr. Bob's office and they told her there is still quite a bit of blood. She was all worried about me and called Dr. Bob to make sure I am not in any pain. He told her if I am running around and playing like I have been, that it is probably just the bladder infection and that it sometimes takes 4 weeks of being on the anitbiotics to get better. I hate this, but I kinda like my Mom and Coop; heck I'll even admit, I like to take a swing every now and then at my brother, so I guess I will put up with it. She has to take another sample to Dr. Bob this weekend, so we will see what they have to say then. I hope it is all gone, so we can all relax!

It's starting to get nice here so we have had the sliding glass door open at night, which I love. Mom even let me go outside for a bit the other night so I got to sniff around and see what this new place is all about! Pretty nice I think! She put our bird feeder out on Sunday so I will be very busy watching my feathered friends once they realize the food is there! I can't wait! Oscar seems to think that the door is all his, but I make room for myself. He doesn't understand the concept of sharing. He thinks that everything is his and only his! Makes playing with my donut a bit of a problem every now and then!!

Ok, off to my window! Bye Bye!
