Arrival Story:
I'm a Library Tech at an elementary school and one spring one of the students whose class was across the hall brought in kittens for show and tell. I'd been about 3 years without a cat, so I asked when they'd be ready to go. The child's mother said around the first of July--which was perfect as I was living at home and wanted to get a cat over the summer and be there so it would be MY cat not my mum's. I looked at the litter and initially picked a pewter grey cat but as it was female it'd been promised to someone else. So I looked at the rest and there was an all black (or so he looked at the time) kitten and I said I'd take that one. In fact when I put my hand into the box of kittens, the little black one rubbed against my hand right away, so I guess I shouldn't've even looked at his sister (the pewter grey one). Once the first of July came, I called the family up and went over and got my cat.

Bio:
Blair is named after a character on the tv show "The Sentinel" which ran on UPN in the late 90s (Blair Sandburg). He has a very loud meow and uses it frequently (so he is aptly named; "blare"). Long haired with very interesting colouring--looks black but is really that deep burgundy brown colour with black tabby markings; all of his fur is grey from his skin for about a 1/4 of an inch or so; he has two small white spots on the inside edge (and only on the edge) of each ear. He cuddles with me by nuzzling my neck and stretching his paws out into my hair and kneeding. He also likes to eat strawberries, jello, fruit cocktail juice...he's an unusual cat that way. Blair is my cuddle cat, he loves being held and petted (by me anyway).
