Arrival Story:
A friend of mine knew I was wanting to get another kitten after having mine put to sleep due to a liver disease. She called me and said a patient where she worked had some black kittens and I had to see them. When I got there, he said he was going to throw them in the river if he didn't get rid of them. I picked Cooper because she just laid in my arms and purred. She's a very loving kitty, likes to cuddle with me and talk very loudly! She won't drink from a water bowl, has to be fresh water out of the bathroom sink! Like I said, very finicky, but I love her to death! She's my baby!

Bio:
Back in the beginning of August, Cooper was having some problems breathing. We got her into the vet right away and she was given 4 shots and we were told to go back in 2 days. There was a lot of fluid in her lungs. When we went back, a lot of the fluid was gone, but her kidney level was raised a bit. We put her on special food and gave her lots of water and when we went back a month later, so had almost gained 2 pounds back. However, this past Sunday, she was having a very hard time breathing again, but worse this time. I took her to the emergency vet clinic and we were told she had congestive heart failure and wouldn't make it long. That afternoon as I was snuggling with her, it broke my heart to see how hard it was for her. So, that afternoon, Cooper crossed the rainbow bridge and is now hanging out with Sophie the way they used too! My heart is broken and Oscar and Chloe's are too; Cooper was a very large part of our lives. I had 13 years of her constantly being up on my lap and having her snuggled in beside me when we went to bed. There is such a huge sense of emptiness in our lives right now. She is no longer in pain and is hopefully having fun there! I love you Coop and will miss you forever!!!

Dear Diary:

Well, it's been a little over a month since Sophie passed away. Mom has bad days every now and then, always gets tears in her eyes. When that happens, I always climb up on her lap and try to snuggle and make her feel better. We all miss Soph so much, Mom says she doesn't even like being at home anymore because it just seems empty without Soph. = (

Oscar has been chasing me around now, I'm always hissing at him and batting at him with my paw, but he just doesn't get the fact that I DO NOT want to play with him. I'm older and all I really want to do is have a few snacks every now and then and lay on Mom's lap or snuggle with her at night. This morning, I was so comfortable in my spot next to Mom. Well, her alarm went off and she got up to get ready to go to work. Do you think the little brat would let me sleep in? NOOO! He obviously doesn't realize that I like to get up when I want to, at my own speed. I do not like to have some little brat jump on me wanting to play first thing in the morning! Do you think he will ever learn?

Mom took him up to Tom's last weekend. They hang out and it gives me some peace and quiet here at home. Mom hurt her back again, so she was off quite a bit for 2 weeks and Tom would come down to pick up her and Oscar since she was taking some pain pills. One day she was going to take me along, but I got a little freaked and ran under the bed. Mom didn't want to scare me anymore than I was, so she let me stay home. She feels bad because I am now home all by myself when she goes to Tom's and she worries that I get lonely.

Well, I think Mom is going to be home for lunch pretty soon, so I will go hide out upstairs until she gets home! Talk to you later.

Bye Bye!

Dear Diary:

Well, I am happy to say that the reason I have not written for so long is because I am constantly on my Mom's lap. If I'm up there, that annoying little brother of mine can't get up there, so see, I'm a very busy kitty!!!!

Soph isn't here tonight, and I miss her. I know Mom was sad, so I've been especially cuddly with her tonight. Oscar keeps running around upstairs and then back down. I have no idea what he is doing, but he is being very loud and disturbing my peace and quiet while I lounge with Mom.

Mom came upstairs when she got home from taking Soph to the doctor, and explained to me that she had to go there so she could get better. She isn't her usual self, I'll give ya that, but then, who has been since Oscar has come into our lives??? Mom said she'll come home real soon though, thank God!!!

I do have one complaint to voice tonight - Oscar keeps hogging a bunch of the bed, and since he's been doing that, Sophie has decided that she wants to sleep on my purple pillow by Mom's head. I can handle that, but Oscar gets up real close behind her back and lays on his back like a person. Tom says that Oscar thinks he is a human, all I know is that he takes up a whole lot of space when he stretches out on the bed. Who said he could lay across the bed instead of the way he is supposed too??? Oh well, at least I have Mom's lap.

Bye Bye!

Dear Diary:

We had a visitor last night, Tom came down to see us! He and Mom met my Auntie Kristen for dinner, then came back home and hung out. Oscar chased Sophie and I around for a long time, and he kept getting scolded by Tom, ha ha, he is always getting into trouble....I love it!

Mom got ahold of Oscar and they went upstairs. I had a feeling she was going to put him to bed for the night, and I was right, so as soon as I heard that door to the kitty carrier close, I was right up there talking to my Mom. I like to talk to her, then when she tries to walk somewhere, I run and plop down right in front of her feet! Hee hee!

Well, Mom is getting ready to fold laundry so I better go get ready to help her out with that! Bye Bye!
